  1. Happnes to me almost daily. I have to go around this building out to my garage to paint and it will be dead calm inside, soon as I round the corner its like a hurricane. srs. Drives my nuts, blows all the pieces everywhere. i learned to put everything into an old guitar box and when I get oyt there I have a little kids tent that I set up, set it on a table and pout the stuff inside to paint it., Still sometimes the tent will boow away when I turn my back even though iu weight it down on each corner with weights.
  2. I use an airbrush. Its fun to play with but there is a pretty good learning curve. Bought a kit on amazon that came with 3 different airbrushes, compressor and some basic paints. I mainky use the brush that is a top feed where you out the paint in the little bowl affixed to the top of it. Seems to work the best, The real key to it is to get some reducer. You need to mix a fiw drops with the paint so it comes out properly. Also you need to clean the airbrush after using it so it doesnt get messed up so some cleaner would not hurt either. Its hard to to large areas because you need to go over them a number of times to get an even coating. Works great for smaller pieces and shading though. I painted this one with the airbrush.
  3. Sit.
  4. I have been working on a simple picture frame all week. i know the feeling. the more I press it, the worse it is getting.
  5. I don't make stuff for friends and family. They don't appreciate it. They might like it ok but I put a lot of passion into what I do and I think I deserve to be paid for it. If I want them to have something I just give it to them. I also don't do commission stuff. Again, people don't understand what is involved in what they think might be a simple piece.
  6. I change them when they break. I will keep the old used ones too, they will eventually break. That is their way of telling me I have used them too much. Works out even for that time when I replace the blade and it breaks as soon as i start sawing.

Here is a piece I just finished.
  8. Thats not a tariff, thats just jacking the price up 25% and blaming someone else.
  9. So if i read that correctly, you just want to make the edge a tiny bit wider and not grow the whole piece correct? If it were me, its pencil time. Its only a tiny bit, just print it the size you want and draw it in. Could be done with it by now instead of trying to teach yourself a whole new thing. Just me though.
  10. Here is one I just completed.
  11. Here is what I do with pdfs. They are hard to size just right so I will open it up and take a picture of it with my phone. I then email that pic to myself. Now I open that pic and save it as a jpg. No I open a spreadsheet program. I use excel but I am sure you have a mac equivalent. I then insert the jpg and now I can size it any size I want it to be and it will print across pages.
  12. I have tried those programs but didnt want to spend a year learning them when I have scissors and tape. What I do is cut and paste everything together manually. I then take a picture and email it to myself. I then open a excel and insert the image. this way I can size it any size I want. print it out and ready to cut.
  13. I do stuff sort of like this. Here is a quick example. I get mine from tattoo flash. This one here is from a book by Mitch Oconnell. Its a book of tattoo flash. You have to watch these though because its the tiny pieces that will get you. They can be small but only so small until you have to make the piece bigger or just do a portion of it. Start with things like bugs bunny and the like. Simple and gives you a good idea of how to do it, Hint. the holes go in the black lines. Most comic book art has black outlines so its perfectly suited for this style. Same goes with tattoos. Check out Speed Racer too. This one was simple. I just found the image online,. inserted it into excel and sized it to my needs and printed it. The smallest pieces again are the issue. For this one its the inside of the eyes.
  14. I always feel a bit off until i can get some saw time under my belt. Its a great stress reliever.
  15. I would play with making the letters smaller and have them touch the sides instead of the thing in the center. They dont have to be that size. The M is what is causing the trouble. Also perhaps a different font. just a thought.
  16. rattle can spray paint works great. I use it all the time.
  17. I use the cheapo spray glue from walmart. I spray the back of the pattern with an extremely light spray. Maybe 1-2 seconds of spray for the entire pattern. I then let it sit for at least 15 minutes. It should be just barely tacky, way less tacky than a sticky note. Stays on and comes right off when done.
  18. Just finished this piece.
  19. Scrollsaw Squawk is pretty decent too.
  20. Great work as always. Also nice pics with the new phone.
  21. I pretty much only cur 1/8" Baltic birch. i cant stand spiral blades. They are just not my thing,. Some people love them so not judging, just sayin i dont care for them.
  22. Thanks. I just use spray paint. Of course I paint the little pieces before I assemble everything.
  23. Here is one I just finished.
  24. I use a rubber stamp of a crow on the back and write my name with a sharpie.
  25. Turned my Navy rating badge into a Mid Century Modern motel sign.
