  1. Was looking for a gemini 8 patch logo and stumbled upon Nasa's website with all sorts of logos. Obviously respect copyright laws and such and have to make your own patterns but the possibilities are limitless!! https://images.nasa.gov/search-results?q=&keywords=LOGO&page=1&media=image,video,audio&yearStart=1920&yearEnd=2019
  2. Pretty good one there. I get bad boy letters from the IRS and this looks fairly official. Hope people are not falling for it though.
  3. These are really nice. Look like a machine made them!!
  4. I thought it would be the king of the world scene. Pleasantly surprised!!
  5. Great quote. Notice how they put that international orange handle on the decaf, that is to warn you of the danger!!
  6. I love the nhl logos, your look great
  7. Thermally modified. Does that mean they just left it out in the sun? Just kidding, looks like nice wood.
  8. I work 100% with baltic birch. 99.9% of that is 1/8" super fortunate that here in san Diego there is a place called TH&H hardwood that sells a great selection fo whatever wood you could imagine. They sell mainly to people who make rich people custom cabinets and yachts and such so a simple 5 x 5 of bb is about $12. Almost the cheapest stuff in the place but thankfully, lots of guys use it for some sort of cladding in yachts or something like that so they always have a ready supply. Look for a specialty store in your town if you are in a decent sized city, Almost guarantee they have a place like this. Sorry got side tracked. I live in an apartment and just have the wood stacked up along a wall. I save pretty much all the scraps so I have a lot of boxes of them and find myself using those all the time. if you toss out your dining room furniture, you will find that you have all sorts of room for wood!!
  9. How do we know it was not just a competitor with a homeland security shirt and a badge they got from ebay? Just some conspiracy food for thought.
  10. I had on old piece of plastic that I used to use under my office chair. Made something like this for my saw. Was a hassle to make and never used it even once. Pretty much hit the scrap heap as soon as I finished it. I use a playing card with a hole in the middle of it over the hole to make it more zeroed. I tape it down with plastic packing tape. Works for my needs. I have seen some nicer spaces here for sure but the card thing works fine for my stuff.
  11. For sure. lol
  12. Looks like cool idea. Wonder if it actually works that well.
  13. awesome work space!!
  14. A mini scrollsaw would be cool too.
  15. I am not a fan of spiral blades. They seem to chew up the wood and generally make a mess. Maybe i just dont know how to use them. Last night I had a dream that I made a piece using them just to try them out. Sure enough, just frayed pieces and chewed up stuff everywhere. They odd part was that people loved it!! I guess like the ripped jeans thing is popular,. i dont know but people could not get enough of the work i did with the spirals and I could hardly keep up with demand. One strange dream for sure, lol.
  16. I hear you Ray. Great value, especially for us heavily pattern dependant guys.
  17. Great job!!
  18. Awesome collection, great work!!
  19. Great job, makes my thirsty!!
  20. Great job!! Like the funny subject matter and great cuts.
  21. I was worried about the cost but it was well worth it especially for this hobby. You know how it is with working with patterns and such. Nice to be able to just print out one and if you do not like something about it, print it again and again. Dont even need to worry about it. Also the ink does not dry out like an inkjet. I have had that happen, almost new printer but never used it and when I finally did the ink had dried up.
  22. Good info. I cut my chops in the tatoo world so I have a bit different thinking about it. People will give someone a tattoo of star wars or Disney or whatever sacred cows their might be but have you ever heard of someone ordering them to scrape it off of their arm? of course not. Now If I were to advertise taylor Swift, Disney and NFL tattoos , then that might get some attention. I feel that as long as that we are respecting the original artists and businesses they represent ten we should be ok. thats the way i conduct myself anyway. How many of us have a John Wayne image? You dont see his kids coming after us but you also dont see us proclaiming we are the greatest outlet for John Wayne stuff either. Just think how search engine algorithms work and math it back.
  23. For years I used the cheapo inkjet printer. They were about $30 and came with ink. Of course when it comes time t replace the ink, it costs about $35 for it. That always bugged me. I got mad at that and figured I would just buy a new one every time I ran out of ink which worked good but it was just not an environmentally nice thing to do. Plus they do not print that many pages. Pulled the trigger on a color laser printer a few years back and could not be happier. I got a Brother 3170CDW. It cost me about $170 or something like that on Amazon. now that is a chunk of change no doubt but it is well worth it. For starters, it comes with all the colors toners, red, blue, yellow, black, or whatever fancy words they call them. The initial ones printed about 300 pages. The ink jets did about 25 -50 pages at best. I get the generic replacement toners that cost me $45 of so on amazon and they all work great. You know how it is with pattern printing. There is always some resizing and printing and moving something around, printing again and so on. before i would be very cautious about the pages but now i just hit print like i am at the office or something. I can print 25 pages per project and not even care. Well worth the money if you are getting frustrated with ink and such. Plus the wifi part connected no problem and also have a phone app to print from my phone.
  24. Super professional looking!!
