Sycamore67 Posted January 30, 2019 Report Posted January 30, 2019 It is cold ..very cold this morning. It is -21 F with wind chill around -45 F. It is even colder up in Wisconsin. But, the sun is coming up and will warm things up a bit to maybe -5 F. The snow makes weird noises when you step on it. The only colder I have encountered is -26 F with wind chills in the -60 s. Thank goodness for cars today which start much better than the older cars in the frigid weather. amazingkevin and bobscroll 2 Quote
Foxfold Posted January 30, 2019 Report Posted January 30, 2019 I've just been reading about this. It's a Polar Vortex and I don't envy you one bit. Keep warm and well. xx bobscroll 1 Quote

jerry1939 Posted January 30, 2019 Report Posted January 30, 2019 Google "States with no mail delivery Wednesday". -22 in eastern Iowa. Would it help to send a delegation to Australia to work out a compromise with Marg? jerry bobscroll 1 Quote
MTCowpoke22 Posted January 30, 2019 Report Posted January 30, 2019 I'm fairly surprised with all the closures and no mail deliveries going on. While it certainly is cold, we've (Montana anyways) seen colder, and worse wind chills before. When I was in highschool in the 90's we had football practice at 35 below and a -80 degree windchill. bobscroll and ChelCass 2 Quote
Dan Posted January 30, 2019 Report Posted January 30, 2019 On a positive note, it's not too warm and the brisk breeze gets the adrenaline going. It could be worse you could live in California. MTCowpoke22 and bobscroll 1 1 Quote

Heck, that's nothing. I had to walk 5 miles to school & back, and it was uphill both ways. jerry bobscroll, Gordster, Jim McDonald and 3 others 2 4 Quote

Scrappile Posted February 5, 2019 Report Posted February 5, 2019 We finally hit some Winter today. In the mid 20's winds to 25 mph and snowing. We are suppose to get up to 5". STOP laughing, that is good amount for us. Bad, I mean BAD Winters we can get 8+". This evening the wind has died down and it is snowing pretty good..... The very sad part of it is I cannot possibly be expected to go out in these conditions and to anything. Guess I will have to stay in and.... scroll.... Quote
