Good one Brenda...Not...Did a similar thing last week tripped over a small pile of dirt hidden in the long grass fell on a pile of concrete paving slabs on right shoulder  then twisted the other way and splatted into the top of a water sump on my left shoulder. Bugger me I ended up with two small grazes on my shin and the rest of my 70 year old body aches like hell.....So believe me I know exactly how you are feeling....Oh and I also feel bloody foolish....Merlin....

Hi Brenda:
OH DEER!!!
Glad to hear/read your story.  The outcome could have been much worse.
I think that there are more stories out there about trips (not vacations) and falls
If you haven't trip, stumbled(being drunk doesn't count), at least once in your life
you haven't lived
Heal quick and wipe that sawdust off the reindeer
Have a nice day

Hello to you Brenda, that was one very funny story you just told us!!! That did sound very painful for you and sadly I've done something like that, I tripped over the darn wheelie bin, did ribs elbow knee and ankle, So I'm sorry this happened to you Brenda, As you say We don't bounce as well as we get older, I wish you a speedy recovery Brenda, All the best Robert 👍

I have done those crashes and your right with age it seems to be easier. My dad mentioned about his concerns of falling, He mentioned that when start going down there is no stopping it. I agreed with him and do it more often at 72. It is discouraging since dad is 99 1/2 so it is not seeming it will go away just do not always know where my feet are.

  Sorry for laughing but I would have thought about the reindeer first as well.
12 years ago my grand-kids were here for the day and my grandson wanted to charge his whatever it was and they were playing on the Wii while it was charging.  the cord was long and across a doorway and every time they went past I said watch out for the cord or don't trip on the cord.  Famous last words.  One of the Wii controls needed new batteries so I stept over the cord to go change them came back in and tripped over the cord landed on one hand and still kept hold of the Wii control in the other and all I could think after the pain had subsided was thankfully I had not broken the control.  I did however break my wrist and my hand and that was 6 weeks before we went on a 13 week holiday to the UK.  You have my sympathy.

Glad to hear you are not hurt too badly other then your pride perhaps. I too had to laugh as I would have had the same thought, protect that reindeer. 😉☺️ A couple months ago now, I hit my head on the corner of a rear slide out on our RV. I was cleaning it out to sell, it had gotten dark, I was going to lock the door, but needed light from our open garage to find right keys needed and was looking down at keys. I rounded the corner and thwacked my head pretty hard. It cut it open and was bleeding a lot. Fortunately I knew head wounds will bleed a lot but not really be that bad. So I went to the door to go in the house And called my husband to come and help. His  first reply was it’s Friday night, I’m not taking you to the ER for stitches on a Fri. night, because it will be crazy busy and we’ll have to wait for hours to be seen! 🤨 Then he said stay in garage so as not to get a lot of blood on wood floors! He then got the bandage “glue” to seal it up. Fortunately the cut was in my hair line so only my hairdresser can tell. 🥴😃 Then, to add insult to injury, I went back ro RV, rounded corner again and hit the other side of my head ion same spot on RV. It didn’t break the skin, but gave me big bruise and pump knot on my forehead.  🤭🤫 I decided it kept jumping out in front of me because it was upset we were selling it. 😏☺️ So, I understand. 😉 Definitely couldn’t believe I had managed to hit it again!🙃😢

You write a very good story and it reminds me of Erma Bombeck.  Consider saving those "moments" and turning then into a piece for submission to crafting related magazines.  I bet they would sell and get published.

P.S.  May you recover fast and keep on cutting.

Tony trundled off yesterday for a long weekend away with his Army mates. His first venture 'out' since this pandemic began. He's fully vaccinated and all his friends are of a similar age and outlook.  So, taking advantage of the peace and quiet I tootled round the house and garden with my dogs, enjoying the sunshine.  All sweetness and light ?

Well, I decided to spend some time in my workshop.  I sanded some ¼" oak board that Tony had cut for me and made a start on Xmas.  I decided to cut a couple of Steve Goods 'Reindeer' ornaments.   Having cut one, I put some danish oil on it to see what the effect would be, then turned to put it in my 'drying' room.

I tripped over the cord from the sander, kicked my vacuum cleaner and did a nose dive into my 'wood shelf' !!!   At almost 70yrs old, I've discovered that I have a tendency to go 'Splat' rather than bounce. !!  It took a few minutes before the pain subsided and I felt able to get up !!   I have a bruise on my cheek, the skin on my arm looks like it's had a run in with a cheese grater and my ribs, after their run in with the vacuum, feel like I've been kicked hard.!!

The thing is,,, on my way 'down' all I could think of was that the danish oil on my ornament was still wet and now it's going to be covered in sawdust  !!!  🤣

Well if he doesn't come home i'll take you with a bruise on your cheek, and an arm that looks like it's had a run in with a cheese grater, bruised ribs, Hope the nose made it!!! That's my offer!!!
