JimNC Posted August 3, 2025 Report Posted August 3, 2025 I do a lot of stack cutting. I have tried about 3-4 different brands & types of double and really didn't like any of them. Any suggestions??? Quote

What I always did was lay blue painters tape on top an bottom and then spray a sheet of copy paper both side with 3M 77 adhesive. That was the way I use to do it. Joe W. Posted August 3, 2025 Report Posted August 3, 2025 sometimes I will use a pin nailer and have found 3/8 inch pin nails to use with my 23 gauge pin nailer. Other times I will tape the outside edges together. Dave Monk 1 Quote
BadBob Posted August 4, 2025 Report Posted August 4, 2025 I like using dots of wood glue in the waste areas. I clamp the stack together for 20 minutes, and that is enough to hold them together. It's cheap, doesn't move, and there is no gap between the layers. JJB, Norm Fengstad and meflick 3 Quote
Denny Knappen Posted August 4, 2025 Report Posted August 4, 2025 I use double stick tape every day on our framing projects. I also use it stack cutting as long as it in the waste area. I have it on the website. Here is a link: Hand Held ATG Tape | Pegas scroll saw Quote
JTTHECLOCKMAN Posted August 4, 2025 Report Posted August 4, 2025 Again I will bring this up. With double sided tape you are leaving a gap between layers which can cause chip out on all pieces. No matter how thin the tape is it still a gap. Everyone is different use different methods but would like to point out some factors. BadBob 1 Quote

Do not ask how I know this. It only takes a few strategically placed dots of glue. If you use too much glue, that could be a problem. I haven't had that happen yet. Quote
Jim McDonald Posted August 7, 2025 Report Posted August 7, 2025 I have tried taping stacks and it works for a couple of sheets, but I am firmly in the clamp and then hot glue the edges. You just have to avoid getting a bubble of glue below the bottom layer. Trim it off because dried hot glue doesn't slide on v the table. Even the slightest drop will grab your table. MarieC 1 Quote
Juan Rodriguez Posted August 8, 2025 Report Posted August 8, 2025 I use pin nails on several waste areas around the pattern. It holds good and it has worked for me. Quote
Hawk Posted August 9, 2025 Report Posted August 9, 2025 Another vote for hot glue, thats been my go to method for years..(ok.... decades, but who's counting!) Chris Quote
