Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a small project with fellow scrollsaw and woodworking folks.

I’ve written a cozy mystery series centered around a makerspace and the people who use it. Scrollsaw work, intarsia, and the quiet rhythm of the shop play a real role in the books. The craft isn’t background flavor — it shapes how the characters think, observe, and solve problems.

This grew out of a genuine love of woodworking and maker communities, and an interest in showing those spaces with accuracy and respect.

If you enjoy woodworking-adjacent fiction, or are simply curious to see our craft reflected on the page, I thought it might be of interest here.

Happy new year, my friends

Monti

Yikes! $143.00 on Amazon.

Thanks everyone, I went back to Amazon and found it for 9.99.  I can't imagine why it first popped up at 143.00. That really was a shocker.  Anyway, I went ahead and ordered it.  I love mysteries so I will add it to my reading list.

Monti, I wanted to let you know that I had previously downloaded your book through Kindle unlimited and got a chance to read it. I throughly enjoyed it. As a woodworker and as a prolific reader, especially of mysteries!  I agree with Wichman, let us know when you put the next one out. 🙂📚📕

Monti @Montserrat, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your first book and have downloaded the second one.

I relate to your characters in many ways: hobbiest woodworker, retired PhD with a food allergy and drive a Subaru Outback.  I am looking forward to reading the next book.

edit - also a member of the local makerspace.

Aw. Thank you. Will you give it a review when you are done?  That would be so helpful

I posted my review.  And I have started reading your second book.
