  3. Great job, Randy, I think I like the 2nd cutting without the ring slightly better but, they are both excellent.f I certainly don't see any sloppy cutting that you mention. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse

  5. Welcome, Lew, Glad you found the forum. Find some of the items that appeal to you and make some saw-dust. we love to see new projects and, as you already know, we are a friendly, supportive group. Keep some projects you make or at least save some good photos so you can look back at your beginning projects after you have some time under your belt. God Bless! Spirithorse

  10. I'd really like to see it also! Just drive over to heppnerguy Dick's and let him do it for you. (Oh, he's in Arizona now, I think)! Really, just open the photo on your phone, touch the photo and a drop down menu comes up with a picture of an envelope. Touch that and enter your computer e-mail address. Now the photo is on your computer and you can use the paper-clip that scrollerpete mentioned to attach the photo. I use that method but, I also take the photo into my Photoshop program and crop the image and reduce the size first and then send it to the forum. I hope that all makes sense. God Blesss! Spirithorse
  11. Excellent cutting! How thick are they and can you stack cut them? Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse Great patterns also, Bob!
  12. If you had a scrollsaw, you could scroll the holes in the holder and then put a 1/8" or 1/4" Bottom on it. Just thinking out loud again! LOL God Bless! Spirithorse
  13. Fantastic work, Dick! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  14. Hi, Heppnerguy, One is already sold and one is hanging in our home. I hope with a little luck I can sell the other two also. Thanks for the compliment and please continue to keep my wife and I in your prayers. We are definitely in need of some answered prayers. God Bless! Spirithorse
  15. Greetings, The only suggestion I can add is, perhaps if you draw a few straight lines on some scrap wood and then cut some with the saw speed pretty high, some with the speed pretty low, and maybe a couple with the speed near the middle, you will find what speed suits you personally. What-ever speed you are cutting at you have to remember the adjust how fast you feed the wood into the blade and let the blade do the cutting. If you are bowing the blade and the blade has to catch up when you stop pushing while the blade is still running, you are pushing too fast into the blade. God Bless! Spirithorse
  16. Hi, Rob, Yes, I did stack cut quite a bit. It really helped cut down on the number of holes to cut but, made for a lot slower cutting since I was cutting 4 pieces of 1/4" Baltic Birch taped together to cut the sides. Then you had to hope for no tear out on the back because two of the pieces were supposed to be flipped to make a mirror image of each side and if you made any mistakes all four pieces were either all ruined or had the same mistake. Thanks for the compliment and God Bless! Spirithorse
  17. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  18. Very, very nice! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse I had a pattern from another group a long time ago that said Jesus Loves You in the format you show on your photo and then beneath that letters were cut out that said But I'm His favorite. A few people enjoyed that. God Bless! Spirithorse
  19. Thanks for all the kind words! Roly is right that there were times I wondered if I was looking at the blade, a shadow, or the pattern line. I really appreciate the replies. God Bless! Spirithorse
  20. I agree with scrollerpete that you will probably be able to find what you need at Sam's Club. We use them for parties and they are very well built and the price is reasonable. I'm a bit surprised that with your skills you don't build exactly what you want! God Bless! Spirithorse
  21. Great work, Rob, I'm glad you could salvage it. God Bless! Spirithorse
  22. Greetings, Two done and I plan on making two more. The pattern is from BerryBasket but, I modified it from the Catholic version with our debts to the Protestant version with our trespasses. I also had to modify the sides due to the added lines of text required. Approximately 35 hours total but, that includes gluing up patterns for the framework of the next two. I already have all the wording cut. All 1/4" Baltic Birch cut with an 18" Craftsman scrollsaw. Embellishments stained Colonial Maple and the backer stained Early American. Approximately 22"W x 28"L. God Bless! Spirithorse
  23. If you don't want to put a backer on it to show through the fret-work, you can just add a saw-tooth hanger on the frame. God Bless! Spirithorse
  24. Great work, Clayton, as always! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  25. Great intro and fantastic projects! I really like those carved bucks! All the projects are great though. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
