  3. Fantastic work, Dave, as always! Gee, a couple of tries. I'll bet you were ready to tear your hair out! LOL Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  4. Dave, I would have the same problem in the area I live in and I do most of my sales by word of mouth and personalized items not found any where else. Make sure to advertise that all your work is done by hand/ hand made and NO LASER or NO CAD. God Bless! Spirithorse
  5. Excellent workmanship, Dave, I envy your work on every one of your projects and can't wait to see your next post. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  6. I also agree that there is plenty to brag about. Great project! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse

  8. Great job on the pattern and the cutting. I am so sorry you cannot make the trip and sorry for your loss. My heart-felt prayers go out to you and your family. God Bless! Spirithorse
  9. I just use masking tape on each corner. Make sure to keep the stack as tight as possible while taping to keep saw dust from building up between the layers. I have cut 4 layers of 1/4" for large projects and 6 layers of 1/4" for small ornaments. You definitely have to slow down and don't try to force the blade into the wood. Let the blade do the cutting. God Bless! Spirithorse
  10. Hi, DW, If I read the post correctly, the flower IS made of wood. Pine Shavings or very think slices of pine. Very well done project. God Bless! Spirithorse
  11. Absolutely beautiful work! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  12. Greetings, You have the right concept of the relief cutting and can find two free simple patterns at stevegood.com/catalog if you search for Simple Nativity and Relief Cut Cross. Another scroller has also taken this to new limits by relief cutting scenes or animals and then shaping the portions that are pushed forward so that the entire project looks carved instead of relief cut. As Denny Knappen stated. You determine what angle to set the blade by the thickness of your wood and the thickness/kerf of the blade. Several members here can supply you with charts for different dimensions so you don't have to do a lot of math. I hope you try some projects and show us! God Bless! Spirithorse
  13. Very nice, Terry Lee! I don't know where you got the pattern but, it reminds me of a Vincent Van Gogh painting and is very appealing to the eye! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  14. Here is a silhouette of a ghost shining on my house. Just a 10" Scrollsaw project with a high intensity light shining on it. Just move the light nearer or further away to adjust the size you want on your house. The second pic is one of Steve Good's recent patterns. God Bless! Spirithorse I don't know why my color is so messed up on my phone. The Steve Good pic is made from Baltic Birch and the carpet it is laying on is actually blue! Go figure.
  15. Thanks, Jerry! Beautiful work and beautiful frame! Thanks for sharing. God Bless! Spirithorse

  21. Hi, Iggy, I have always used the craft paints thinned down and finished with a polyurethane spray. Your present technique seems fine and I agree you should probably finish it with a sealant of some sort. You can still choose from a satin sheen or gloss. One other option not mentioned is Kool-Aid. Lots of colors to choose from and simple. Your puzzles are quite nice. God Bless! Spirithorse
  22. Congrats, Ike and I also wish you continued success! God Bless! Spirithorse
  23. Very nice cutting and well framed and presented. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  24. I like a lot of Mike Williams' patterns and you did this one justice. It isn't a pattern that I would like enough to purchase but, it is very well done. Framed very nicely also. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse
  25. Greetings! I use a stand that already had wheels on the back that barely clear the floor until the front end is lifted and I've seen others make their own stands with wheels. God Bless! Spirithorse
