  1. I'm not sure what price to ask but you did a great job on the portrait. The color is a great touch.
  2. This is an interesting site. If you look under the Historcal books section there is a catalog of Bowman patterns. It was created in 1880 but the work is in the same style as our own, the late Dirk Bowman. I wonder if there is a connection there.

Clayton, I get it through various sources but mostly through Amazon. I use to get it from Sloans but they haven't had any for over a year. I also found a source for 1/64" ply but have no use for it yet.

Aw, Ike, it's easy and fun. Make a bunch of them to give away to friends and family at Christmas.
  5. You could also use one of these jigs: https://mcjing.com.au/categorybrowser.aspx?categoryid=1214&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1. I haven't used one and they are expensive, but if you ever get into making wheels it would be worth it.

Thanks for the kind words. I normally stack 10 and most of them take about 15 minutes to cut. For the individual names I tape the bookmark to a scrap of 1/4" ply for support.

I realized I haven't posted any pictures in a while. I have had some large orders for bookmarks (218 plus 75 plus 25 and several ones and twos). Here is one custom order request. I love making these as in less than an hour I can have 10 of them cut and sanded. These are made from 1/32" Baltic birch ply. Thanks for looking and I promise to post other things as I get time.
  8. Hi Kelly. Best advice I have is to buy some FD blades and give them a try. It's mostly personal preference. If you don't like them try another brand. I am happy with FD blades but mostly I get great service from Mike. I also like Olsen and Pegasus. Generally speaking, I think blades are inexpensive.
  9. Um, did you forget something?
  10. Excellent! The eyes are fantastic.
  11. Very nice! Is it your design?
  12. That came out really nice Dick.

Wow! Great deal. Ok neighbor, is this saw mill open to the public?
  14. Awesome work Paul! That one needs to be framed!
  15. Fantastic Luis!
  16. Beautiful! It's what we expect coming from you Hans.
  17. Super job John. All cut appear clean and the circles look great. Give yourself a pat on the back.
  18. Yes, very nicely done.
  19. Excellent idea! I may have to steal the idea. Lol is that your pattern?
  20. Nice ob and very creative!
  21. Well Kevin, if you were a girl your name would be Charity. Excellent job my friend.
  22. Very nice. I don't think I would have the patience for it. How tall is it?
  23. Your kindness will be rewarded some day Kevin. Good job and great work.
  24. Ray, drive around after people put their trash out. You can get a lot of free wood.
  25. I think we are all woodworkers. That is a very broad term that includes the professional cabinet maker, wood sculptors, and those that cut popcicle sticks to build a doll house. I think of a wood crafter as someone who takes wood an makes useful or decorative objects. I think that includes most of us scrollers. If you work with wood because you enjoy it but don't plan on making a living from it, I would call you a hobbyist. Therefore, I am all three.
