  1. These are great. I have made hundreds of them. I prefer 1/8" for the front. Used to decorate them with small wooden spools cut in half with fabric glued around them. Also used to letter them with "Sew Special".
  2. You have been busy. I like them all but the first lion is outstanding. So effective but still rather simple.
  3. I remember years ago that some friends had a showing like that. It was invitation only at a house where several friends had their crafts for sale.
  4. Several years ago I had a 12" Craftsman and a 9" Delta bandsaw. They were both worthless. Don't remember what happened to the Delta but I sold the Craftsman to a guy I didn't like. Bought a Ridgid 14" and would never buy anything smaller.

Great work. I think the frame somewhat overpowers the cutting. It would probably show up better with a simpler frame.
  6. Great work. Sue Mey does some outstanding designs.
  7. That just reaffirms the idea that I quit taking custom orders and do what I want. If I occasionally sell something great and if not then somebody gets a gift whether they want it or not.
  8. Nice work. The Harley logo is not easy to cut. You should post this on Steve Good's site to show him that it is possible to use red oak for fretwork.
  9. Great project. Haven't thought about cribbage since my service time.
  10. Ceiling outlets are great. I especially like them for my planer as it keeps the cord out of the way.
  11. My first scrolling was in the late 60's so there wasn't a lot of info available. It was a very much trial and error. Started out with a Delta scrolling jigsaw 24". I used that saw for 30 yrs. It was a workhorse but rather hard on blades. If you get the chance to attend one of the Scrolling conventions be sure to do so. You will meet a lot of great people and can learn a lot. Attended my first scrollsaw picnic around 20 yrs ago and met the guys from Seyco. A lot of the attendees have fallen by the wayside but it was great experience. It actually was a picnic as they had a covered dish lunch.
  12. Hope you have better luck than I. Tried a few pieces in a craft store. Didn't check for a while and when I went back the place was gone including my pieces.
  13. I'll say the weather turned. The first of the week was doing good to get into the 50's and yesterday we hit 90. I guess I missed spring somewhere in there.
  14. Nice job. I did one leopard and swore to never do another. Was seeing spots for days.
  15. Finally can post a picture. Finished this for my Mother. Thanks to Sue Mey for the pattern.
  16. Hey Dan, great minds think alike. I have cut the same piece just don't have it mounted yet.
  17. Think this is a quirk of the DeWalt. It also happens to mine and I just click it on then off and seems to solve the problem until next time.
  18. Found out yesterday how helpful it is. Actually made it out to the shop and was working on a piece of fretwork. Did the drilling at the drill press and began cutting. Of course, found a couple of places that didn't get drilled. Have the dremel with plunge router attachment by the saw so didn't have to get off my stool to get the holes drilled. I also keep a smaller bit in it so can use it instead of changing bits in the drill press.
  19. I have used a lot of templates for things that I repeat. Found that 1/8" masonite works great. It is inexpensive and thin enough that it is easy to trace around.
  20. If I had a spiral in my saw, it would be changed immediately to a flat blade as I don't like spirals. On the other hand, there are scrollers that use them exclusively.
  21. I have raided quilting stashes a number of times for specific background fabrics as they can really add to a piece. Nice job.
  22. I have the plunge router attachment for my Dremel and it works great. I forget what it cost but was less than $50. Had trouble finding it as Menards didn't have it but finally found it at Grizzly.
  23. If it has the variable speed, it is probably a good saw. I had one like that and it was great. Of course, I was using it pretty heavy at that time and it was several years old when I got it and had been used pretty heavy so the variable speed control went out. Wound up selling it but would not hesitate to have another for that price. You can contact Bushton Mfg if you have the info and they could tell you more about the saw.
  24. My experience with Grizzly was somewhat different. I drove 2 hrs in a pouring rain to attend their tent sale. Of course, by the time I arrived all the 6" belt sanders had sold. No problem, I would just buy a new one. Went inside and pulled the card from the display and then stood in line for 45 min to check out. Was then informed that it was out of stock and someone forgot to pull the cards. I offered to buy the display model but they couldn't do that. The only alternative was order one and pay an additional $40 shipping. I even spoke to the store manager who could care less. When I got home called the main customer service # and they also could care less. If they had offered to discount the shipping, I would still have been somewhat satisfied. Instead, I went local and bought a Delta which I am still using with no problems.
  25. Roy, I don't know the reason for you taking Warfarin but if its not for a valve problem, there are alternatives that work better. I had the same problem as they could never get it regulated so finally switched me to Pradaxa which worked fine for a while but had a reaction so now am on Xarelto which seems to be working. You only take one pill a day and don't have dietary restrictions plus no blood draws.
