  1. Very nice. I really like the laminated look. I have always wanted a laminated gun stock.
  2. Very nice. Is there a pattern for 10's and 20's.
  3. Very nice Larry.
  4. I bought the pattern at scrolleronline.com, sorry I can't remember who made it. Dave the spirals probably aren't good for 3/4" hardwood. I use them on 3/8" hardwood and stack cut plywood. They work good for those. When I cut 3/4" hardwood I use a flat blade.
  5. The piece is 15" tall and 10" wide.
  6. Great idea Roly. Very nice.
  7. There seems to be a lot of talk lately about spiral blades. Some people trying them for the first time, some trying them again and some saying you can't cut anything with detail. The FD new 3/0 spiral are the only blades I use for fretwork. I stack cut three of these with the 3/0 spiral out of 1/4" maple plywood.
  8. She is amazing.
  9. Thanks for the replies. I build my own frames so that is not a problem. I also stack cut three pieces of 1/4" at a time. I guess I will go buy some and give it a try.
  10. I noticed a lot of you use 1/8" BB. I have only used 1/4". For those that have used both do you notice a difference in the look of the finished product because of the thickness. I heard from somebody once that he thought 1/4" looked better because it extra thickness gave it a better effect.
  11. I also tape the three pieces together but with clear box tape. Make sure you don't push hard enough to make the blade bend when stack cutting.
  12. I like having an air compressor with spray nozzle to blow all of the dust off my work when its finished. I always spray a clear coat over fretwork before I frame it to keep any stray sawdust off the inside of the plexiglass.
  13. Did not know. Thanks for posting I will have to check them out.
  14. Very nice work. Glad you like your new saw. Thanks for the review.
  15. Congrats. I couldn't go back to scrolling without a footswitch.
  16. Looking good Frank. You might be trying to cut too fast. Slow down a little and see if the blades last longer. Looking at the pattern it looks like I should be able to cut it with two blades.
  17. That is my favorite blade. I use the 99% of the time. I also start in the middle and work out.
  18. I had a Ryobi but not sure what the number was. It took pinned and pin less blades. The pin less blades were hard to line up on the screw. It would vibrate anywhere over around 1/3 on the speed dial. The faster I ran the more it would vibrate. I used it for a year and then got a Dewalt.
  19. I have to agree with Paul. I started with spirals and the learning curve seemed short. I would really hate to see something if I had to cut it with flat blades.
  20. Welcome to the Village David. Very nice job for your first projects.
  21. An honest mistake. Yours is also very nice.
  22. Nice cutting. I have tried a few different things and it's hard to beat a black background.
  23. Great story Dick. Thanks for sharing it with us. I bet the trip to Germany was a blast.
  24. Very nice saw, I love mine.
  25. Wow very nice. She will love it.
