  1. Check out Sue Mey https://scrollsawartist.com/search.php?search_query=sewing
  2. The large letters are Times and the script is Euphoria Script which I think I got from Google fonts.
  3. Really well cut. Didn't know if it could be done in 3 inches. Looks great.
  4. Really well done. Complements to the painter. Is that the large version or the small version of the pattern? It is on my to do list for Christmas this year.
  5. If you have Inkscape on your Apple and mychain.ttf you can easily make these. You have to kern a little but it works out great if have a bunch to do.
  6. I have posted this before but we have a number of new scrollers to the site that may not have seen this before. I have used the key chain maker over 200 times and each time I give away some key chains everyone really seems to like them. He is my latest that I have done. My oldest Grandson baseball team is representing Ontario in the 13U National Championship and wanted to give the boys something for their back packs. The Video is at https://youtu.be/HEL5kpdgwNI and the download is in his blog https://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/ but you have to scroll down to near the bottom.
  7. Hi Ray I have an obsession with fonts and so have accumulated a lot of fonts. The first thing I do is use a program called nexusfont that you can type in the example and do a visually compare them. I have my fonts characterized as scroll, script, and stencil. In this case, I did not have in my library. So I removed the background using removebg.com. I then took the image and used "what the font" (part of my fonts). I then browsed and it gave my in this case Appleton at a cost of $47. I then did some digging and found it free. Then I realized it was not exact. So I gave my best answer. There have been a glut of Script and Calligraphy fonts lately I have given up downloading. There are hundreds on the Cricut sites.
  8. Hi Kurt from your Uncle Don The closest I have is Appleton. It is close but has little bumps in letters. There maybe variation of this font somewhere. Free from https://freefonts.co/fonts/appleton-regular I had to use Chrome to download as it would not in Edge.
  9. I used 2 pairs in each opposite corners. If I do again I will only use one pair and a dowel in the other as a pivot I got the polarity different in each corner so it will only fits one way. Sticks one way but not the other.
  10. My SIL sent me a picture of a case that one of her friends had with the quotation -- "Interesting". That is a hint hint. The one she showed me was done by a laser so I redesigned for the scroll saw. The sewing machine is from Steve Goods picture. Size is 3 3/4 by 2 3/4. 4 layers 1/8 BB. Swivels on magnets to open.
  11. Great job. I love doing them too. I forgot about the standing birdhouses. I was looking for inspiration for a gift for my daughter to give to her staff this year and I have already done the birdhouse ornaments. Got to get busy in the shop to get one done for her approval. Thanks for posting. PS: The only thing I do differently is a stuff moss (from $store) in hole.
  12. For over sized patterns her is a video. the trick is to drill extra holes and to tape the back. https://youtu.be/qO00Z7hatK4
  13. Alex Fox a member here has some really nice baskets. He calls them bowls but they don't hold soup. https://www.etsy.com/shop/AlexFoxUA?section_id=24170222 Here is an original Alex fox pattern but he has a few much more interesting on his site. I have one my to do list.
  14. I refuse to subscribe until they make the insert available online. So I check it out at Walmart and decide if I want to buy. I will check to see if they have that issue yet.
  15. Firstly, Carole is active on Scroll Saw Woodworking https://forum.scrollsawer.com/ Carole is known as handibunny . I don't know if this link will work but this is her PM there. https://forum.scrollsawer.com/member/48827-handibunny
  16. I think that exact bowl was never in a book. Only in the article in Woodworkers journal. You can always PM Carole and ask. I wanted to do a perfect sphere. I PM'd here and she sent the article. Don
  17. Check out this article https://www.woodworkersjournal.com/simulating-segmentation-with-the-scroll-saw/ Carole also has a section in Scroll Saw Wooden Bowls book on doing Open Segmented Bowls Page 197. Oval but same process. Pretty cool. If you want to contact Carole I was able to contact her with as PM on Scroll Saw Workshop.
  18. Today is our 55th Wedding Anniversary. I didn't have a chance to get a card so when Steve Good showed his "DAD" gnome yesterday I modified to Love you and used the back for the message. A reduced in size and had to make a few modifications on the go as the hands covered the e completely. All done in less than a day.
  19. This is really well done. Love the addition of the personalization. Question What font did you use for the lettering? Very neat.
  20. Don to save you the trouble I have that book and the eagle is on page 116 of this book. It is on my to do list. Really well done.
  21. Congratulation. If it lives up to it's reputation as being the same as the Excalibur line from Taiwan I am sure you will love it. Steve Good stated the 95% of his patterns will fit the 16 inch and there are always ways around this if you ever have something larger. Good cutting.
  22. The original mini bird houses patterns were in Creative Woodworking and Crafts. Issue 156 May 2011 which I have I think there were some more in issue 160 Nov 2011 Steve Good has one in his catalogue too.
  23. Well cut. Great job on the small letters.
  24. I just cut an pasted off the zoom recording. Fist was the Christmas tree. Cool that it folded back flat. Second was the truck and cars.
  25. I tried to do this in Inkscape and you have the same issue if you just type. I then split the letters and found that the space aligns differently. If now distribute the letters you get the same size on both. A little work and would be easier to print off and realign.
