  1. I have used gluesticks over painters tape. they work fine there but it seems like a wast to use painters tape with spray. It's a lot simpler to use spry by itself. I have an old piece of 1/4 ply to spray on and when it gets to bad to use I just get another piece of ply. IKE
  2. That is the chuck that I used with my old drill press which was 30 years old when the motor went. IKE
  3. When sawong at the higher speeds I can tell bly the cuttingif the blade is getting dull. I place my finger on the back of the blaede and if it is getting warm I change blades. I use olsons match blades I likke them better than the precision ground blades. IKE
  4. I cut with the speed at a level that I feel at eas withon My Dewalt 788 it is useally above 5. when cutting puzzles I cut at #6 or 7. with plywood 1/4 thick staacked 3pcs do;ing fretwork @ about 5, but just try different speeds and see what suites you
  5. Now make a bunch and take them to a craft show. IKE
  6. I have a craftmans 10" bench drill press it handles all my bits down to 1/32. I bought it 2 years ago new from Sears for $150 Or you could buy a mini drill chuck that you chuck in your Drill press for about $30 or less. IKE
  7. I like popular the best next is Walnut Popular is cheep and looks nice. i uselly use an linseed oil base on it It draws out the grain and looks real nice and the price is good My outlet is good it is half the price of some Depot or lows the only difference is that ite edges are not finished IKE
  8. I have a dewalt 788 and I bottom feed , some times it is a little tricky getting the blade thru the weed hole . when I drill the hole I turn the wood over and re drill the hole from the oppsite side the top clamp is easier to fit the blade in than the bottom holder . this works best for me. IKE
  9. got mine today ,. it is still a pretty good Mvzins]s.
  10. I only buy Pllywood from H.D. or lowes I get the popular from Paaxton woods ( There is only 3 In the U.S.) at a cost os $2.10 per board foot. where HD is at $4.75 pr board foot but I think I will have to proce the Ply at Paxton Woods for H.D. and Lowes stop handling the top grade ply. IKE
  11. I am now out of dried hard wood and if I want to buy any I get Popular from the lumber company ( Paxton Woods) for $2.20 per board foot. The way I figure it thaat skid wood coatabout $3 per board foot. No thanks. just look around for some place to buy wood at a reasonable price. IKE
  12. I am using Krylon spray, It's not as good as 3m but it is a lot more convent to buy from Michael's at 40 or 50 off It cost about $4.50 a can. I do have a little riseing but I have a glue stick and when that happens I use Elmers stick glue. I have one at my saw. Sometimes the stick glue is a little harder to remove from the wood but it's not bad. IKE
  13. I use my spray adhesive on my patterns and use no blue tape. When cutting fretwork the blue tape is a big pain sometimes it takes about as long as cutting removing the tape. Most sprays are good except the Elamers I bought one and tried it 2 times then set it on the shelf and never tried it again. It is about the same price and it musst be a bigger mark up for some places only cary that bran. IKE
  14. I have a dremel plunger router i use for this purpose.( i used it today) I have a small limited shop and this works fine. I wouldn't be with out it annd the cost when I bought it was about $25 about 3 years ago. IKE.
  15. I sand my blades and I use a lever to tighten the bottom screw. The way the bottom set screw sets I don't have the strength in my fingers( 78 years of abuse) as stated it is hard on the bottom blade holder I have to change it every couple of years. I use the long slender tighteners on his web page. if I didn't use these I would have slippage and use a lot more blades, It is worth the trade off. IKE
  16. I like Scrollsaw woodworking & Crafts. As far as i know it is the only in Publication. IKE
  17. I use olson's match blades as my go to blade. i have tried FD blades and they don't hold there edge as well as olsons. I don't care for Olson's #9 blade . it just don't cut vry well, but then again I don't need that bade very often . I have had olson's match blade last for an hour or a little more, No reason to change, IKE
  18. If it is under warranty take it to a factory repair station that honors Dewalt warranty If not . If not under warranty and they repair it it will coat about $250. IKE
  19. I use the zip lock type bags. IKE
  20. I use 1 gal size zip lock bags They Work fine for me I buy them at the Dollar Store at $1.00 for a box of 15 That comes to 7 Cents each The hard part is putting them in the bag but after you learn how to handle them it is easy IKE
  21. I Use a #5 Match olson blade. IKE
  22. If you use Tight bond glue try soaking in vinagarthen wipe it off with a rag. I use cross stitch ada It works great, It may have to soak for a while. It's not an easy glue to remove. IKE
  23. Try them all and see which one suites you best, IKE
  24. The question is will the part you are modifying the saw for wil always be available. IKE
  25. I know if I have it right by the feel of the tighten lever and I usually use a 3 to 4 setting never have any problems. IKE
