me too i hate spirals. IKE

put a new blade in and tighten it put correct tension on it then take it out and If it has a bend in the blade the left set screw is not correct, if it is bent take a ruler put it in the blade clammp tighten it down on the right then on the left that should cure that problem. if it still breaks i dont know. IKE

Ben there done that. The last time I was sorting for a good while and hadn't made any headway gave up and thru it in the trash, So far I havnot had to buy any replacements. IKE

I had the exact noise coming from my DW788 and I adjusted the tension rod and it cured the problem when I adjusted the rod it quieted the noise I run mine at #3. I know that I have a DW788 but they are similar designs I would definitely try There has to be an video out there telling you how Dewalt has several. ike -

It sounds like not enough tension on the blade. I appears to me you have your tension set at about 5 I usually run @ 3 Did you try to adjust the tension rod? That would be the first place I would start. IKE -

read your book and highlight that you can bring it back for any reason we don't card what lowes says.. afterrunning a dw 788 it feels like a piece of junk. IKE if I step on any toes sorry about that.

I have my DW788 4 inches higher in the back. I can't explain what it does but I like it.It's more confortable. IKE

I bought one from Loews when my dw788 was in the repair shop. I was going to use as a backup saw. Well I took it back on the 3rd day it was a piece of junk. The man in the tool dept wasn't too happy about it but the book said that you could return it with in 90 days for a full refund.. I would take it back and but something better buy the best that your budget will allow. IKE

gifts always pays off for a scroller. I give out oven pulls to any one who buys from me and last year I woman which I gave to came back to look because she has an Oven pull. She spent $15 a good investment of scrap plywood/ IKE

I still get my plywood from Loews it's not cheep about $33 for a 4'X8' sheet I have not bought any this year but I did see it there a couple of month ago IKE

i USE THAT ALONG WITH MY SHOP VAC AIR CLEANER ALONG WITH MY DUST MASK AND EVERY THING IS FINE AND THE NOISE ISN'T TOO LOUD i JUST TURN DOWN MY HEARING AIDS. JUST KIDDING IT ISN'T TOO LOUD. MY SHOP VAS IS A 2 GALEN SIZE. ike

What number is your tenson with a blade in. Mine is at about 3 if it is at the high end that may be your problem. did you try and find a maintenance video on that saw if not there is one on the Dewalt 788 but try for the delta, You don't have to take the saw apart just that area of the tension area It is not a problem with the dewalt I know how to do it but can't explain it . IKE -
