how serious are you about your scrolling hobby?

The only woodworking I do anymore is on the scroll saw.I work 20 to 25 hours a week weather permitting I have to do craft shows to get rid of my inventory and that is ok with me and the wife. I don't know what I would do if I didn't scroll. I guess I would still be working in the Machine shop.It is now just a way of life for me. IKE -

If there is a Dewalt repair center in your area You can pick one up there for about $13 and have it running the very same day. I replaced one last fall and had it running the same day just something to keep in mind for the next time. IKE

I have a stack of lumber( oak, walnut,ash, cherry mixture) about 5'X3'X 4" air drying for about a year I checked it the other day and It is at 8% moisture, so it is ready to plain. what you get from lumber yards is about 10% moisture when planed, I have used air dried for several years now. When stacking I paint the ends with a good heavy coat to keep it from splitting. IKE

This is 3/4 The edges are rough and it is kiln dried at Home depot it cost about $5.00 pr BF.If you have it cut it will take about a year to air dry and should be ar least 4/4 to be planed down to suitable for scrolling .IKE

I just got back from the candy store ( Paxton lumber) bought 26 Board Feet of Popular 6" & 8" wide for $210 pr. BF. With the 12 BF I have now it should be enough for the sawing season.I had $200 left over from last years sales enough to pay table fees for this year.My first sale for 2017 is in the first of April, Don't expect much but it' a start for 2017. IKE

I have 3 lights on my work one or the r, one on the left & one overhead then I adjust the saw where ith shadow ins't a problem no matter what you will probably have a shadow so an adjustment is the answer. IKE

Some times the guarentee is shorter than a one for a new product, be sure before you buy. IKE
