  1. Kevin, I did play around with the torch on some practice pieces, trying to burn the "Ponderosa" map edge. Couldn't get a result I liked. I don't have a wood-burning kit. Pete
  2. Thanks Dan! For the portrait patterns of the Cartwright gang I used to put this project together. 24x12 BB ply double stacked using combination of spiral and flat blades. “Ponderosa†cutout is stained with golden oak. Backer is painted flat black. Frame is rough cut cedar, half lap joint with twine wrap. Thanks again Dan and all the other designers who let us enjoy the fruits of their labor. Pete
  3. Great design and well cut! Pete

  7. As far as the table movement, make sure the two screws are tight that hold the table on, and the angle adjustment knob as well. I went and checked mine to see if there was any side movement on the blade and found none. Check the small bolts that hold the blade holders on to make sure they are tight. The only problem I had with mine was that the blade was not 90º to the table front to back. Here is that discussion... http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/topic/9648-dewalt-788-blade-problem/ Good luck, Pete
  8. Welcome neighbor! I'm about an hour southeast of you. I too work in the basement. Pete

  16. Nice cribbage board! Do you have a hard template or just a pattern for those holes? I've thought about doing one, but I'm afraid of the holes not looking good. Pete

  23. That looks great Jim, one question... do you leave the centers of the "a" and "e" solid, then come back in a second step to inlay them? Pete
  24. If you have Microsoft Word you can take any font and decrease the spacing between the letters so they touch each other. Hope this helps. Pete
  25. Very nice Larry, that is something they will show their grandchildren someday. Kudos to Grampa for helping with another great pattern. Pete
