  4. Thank you everyone its a piece I'm very proud to have finished. .../Hans
  5. Thanks everyone for your compliments it makes it all worthwhile. This was probably the most intricate piece I've done but loved every minute of it.
  6. I would just make another I enjoy scrolling so it would be disappointing but not the end of the world I have the pattern so I would make another one
  7. Just a few more little touch ups and she is done it took 80 grueling hours of scroll sawing but very worth it Eventually I'll mount this in a table for display it is 22" x 16" This is the backside as I haven't removed the pattern yet.
  8. No Idea what it is but I do love the hinges in all my years in woodworking thats the first ones I've seen like that
  9. Hey if it makes sawdust and designer kindling its fine you got to start somewhere, welcome the village where all the scroll saw addicts hang out. Yes you read it right addicts see scrolling is not a hobby its a passion a habit an addiction, I've been at it since 1958 and haven't been able to kick it. Hope you'll stick around there is lots of free patterns for you to choose from some easy ones you'll enjoy learning the ropes and some not so easy but you'll get there in no time trust me. People here are really friendly and anytime you need help just ask and you'll get ar least 25 opinions so you can choose which one will work for you. so don't be a stranger we have members in every corner of the globe, I live in Mexico. .../Hans
  10. Really cute Dick very up lifting I like it yup.
  11. Marg, not really weird, some people are just different. Chances are you use the left side of your brain. As we tend to cut away from yourself, so push cut rather then a pull cut. This is not all bad news as people that use the left side of their brain are more apt to be artistic then visa versa. So enjoy. Happy new year
  12. < ??????????>????????? < > This means both ways what ever it takes to get the job done I use mainly spirals so I'll cut both ways to wear out the blade equally.
  13. Is this a Thomas skidsteer?
  14. My saw is a Dw788 but I bottom feed as I find when ever I top feed my blade always gets stuck behind the holder instead of in front also find it hard to push the blade through that tiny hole with the teeth pointing down.
  15. A dead short between the seat and the saw
  16. I'm a bottom feeder and have used both top and bottom but as I use very small blade holes I find feeding from the top difficult as the blade teeth point down so thats the reason I bottom feed, Otherwise 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other
  17. Actually were in a cold snap right now and it got to 59 this morning that is the coldest I've seen it here in over 6 years BRRRR i think I'll put my jeans on today.
  18. Yes I did Marg there was 400 holes but I was trying to beat myself in time to see how many holes I could cut in a hour. But I found it was all depends on the size of the hole off course so I had to average it out. Now this was no breaks just start to finish it took 3 hours to cut 400 holes. Very stressful on the eyes say the least. .../Hans
  19. Great job Jim keep it up now that you figured it out you're on your way
  20. I think all scroll saws should come with a heated table to keep your hands warm in the winter See I'm think of you guy's comfort.
