  1. I used to do what with my epoxy (2)part bottles for the same reason ,the only problem after somes uses the tip devoloped a leak and you wake up with a terrible mess .so keep a check on the tip covers ,they are no always the best mate match on the cheap bottles they supply ,I now only use when I am read to glue ,and then store normally .Just from my experience ,yours may not do it ,twice was enough for me to change .Good luck !!
  2. You will love it if you give it a chance ,extreamly user friendly ,I have modified my more than anybody else to suit me and how I use it ,different strokes for different folks ,opinions are like navels every bodies had one at one time ,inny our outy no matter .You are the boss set to suit you and yours ,machine capabilities are all I ever needed and added what ever I found useful to me ,dust free was # 1 super easy slick and clean (FOR ME) give it time you will find what suits you personally best , Foot switch and plenty of light ,you can see all the others in my past posts ,if your interested .start slow see what kind of work you enjoy ,and how you are most comfortable top feed bottom feed ,matter of choice ,try a lot and see what fits ,YOU! Everybodies got thier own ideas about most everything ,EVEN ME ,enjoy the journey .
  3. Hows the neighbors with the noise seem like they are close ?
  4. you might want to reconsider that thought ,might find a real one in your future! humor should be shared!
  5. To Each his own ,quality work .There has never been or ever will there be one of those ,considered or attempted here ,they are in the same league with extreamist 's of every stripe ,and have no place here ,only hate a few things in this world ,snakes top s the list then liars, thieves and stupid people .I did not say ingnorant people I said STUPID PEOPLE ,I only kill snake s, the rest I avoid at all costs !
  6. The size of the blade is less inportant that the number of teeth per inch usually 2-3 for resaw ,3/4 " is fine but does cause more resistance for a underpowered saw like a 14"even when stacked to open up cut capibility wet wood drags and has trouble clearing spent saw dust as the cut continues 1/2' resaw blade works just fine requires the same slow steady straight feed as the 3/4 with less resistance and force required .looks easier in videos than in use , I'm not sure after doing a lot of it ,that it is really worth the effort ,cost and process required to achieve the results you envisioned .JMHO
  7. SOMEBODY KEEPS FORGETTING JUST HOW MANY VILLAGES THIS FORUM HAS MEMBERS IN!! Now any questions !!
  8. I heard thru the grape vine ten # is the legal limit of lead they can remove with out a Special Obama EPA permit . Hope all else is well too!
  9. Larry,It is a sealed clear tapered box with adjustable vaccumn that removes all the dust and particals from carving or sanding w/ a dremel or foredom carving ,even a flex shaft from a drill press flex cable by vaccumn to outside collection thru my scrollsaw system ,eliminating all dust and chips in the work area ,fashioned after a simplified sand blast cabinet ,with excellent light ,completely portable and comfortable to use w/foot switch to activate dremel etc.and vaccumn switch .
  10. 4 step one piece 3-d from fret pattern of deer head . All made out of crap materials ,now with cabinette will try better patterns and decent wood . elephant and bears cat now deer turned out pretty good , will try thicker stock and better patterns !
  11. I Think thats is because it was patterened after one ,.,could also be used for airbrushing , with no need for a sand resevour ,just great lite and ample room with vac.and controlability of same .24"x30"x9"x18"
  12. As most of you regulars know ,I have COPD and heart problems ,so to be able to scroll and sand I must be dust free .here is my latest addition for carving and sanding with foredom and dremels ,for one piece raised 3-d carvings ,deer is just roughed out to test this unit, utilized vac slip fit of my scroll saw to power this the chamber ,lovely so far ,standard carvings work just as well ,wanted sit down model ,on 4" casters so totally portable .No Dust at all !! all goes outside thru fein style separator then in to sheet rock dust bag!
  13. Well ,the cabinet is about 7/8 complete , been going to the doc's every day this week ,so shop time greatly reduced ,should be able to try out tomorrow and see how well it works and the may get back on the actual project .test have reveiled ,blood flow problems ,wed next week their going in and find the problems ,the breathing trouble may be more blood flow trouble than lungs ,we shall see 22% percent ain't good and could explain a number of issues .on pins and needles till then ,so will concentrate on this to keep mind busy !Wish me luck !!
  14. Kevin ,actually ,it is a pattern Buck posted in march for a fret work piece ,I didnot want to blame him if I screwed it up ,It just looked like I could change to a different format , but not to not give him credit for the excellent pattern , sorry Buck ,my intentions were honorable ,and if it worked out I would have given the credit where it is due . sorry for any misunderstandings ,but that was the reason .
  15. Been busy with spring issues ,did a little scrolling on replacement dock ,old one ravaged by hard winter here ,Started new 3-D project a four step .The pattern caught my eye ,may build a dust free dremel carving and sanding closure ,similar to a sand blasting closure only with vac.exit and lights to remove all the dust and send out side like my saw .I love the dremels ,but the dust even out side gets me ,so It maybe a while before I finish this one ,I'll be peeking in in the meantime ,there has been some very good stuff posted since I posted last .Later Carl
  16. If it is large pcs. maye be a wall stand up rack will help ,sure says a lot of room adjustable flip retainer works well while keeping ply straght and true sitting on a spacer board to keep moisture from climbing .Just a thought ,love mine .although supply dwindling.
  17. Keep up the pace ,look forward to your results ,sounds like your happy and enjoying the hobby ,My Best Carl
  18. Now to worry Dick time has a way of taking care of that .Love your elec and conduit .super if need arises to add branch offs later . great start 6 mos. will tell you better how you will deciced to use ,and your ready !!great job !!
  19. Hot shot helped me out a while back ,nice to have friends like that here on the forum , Makes you wonder what your service center did ? squirk a little oil on them ? That's a great video ,covers a lot .Glad your up and running ,Good man HOT SHOT !
  20. You might go to replacement parts forums ,and post ,some of the old heads probabally recogize .appears well made ,you might even get a manual or an address with which to decide the useability and features ,sae or metric ,motor id might help id ,looks well taken care of ,be worth id-ing ,you may have a jewel in the rough there!
  21. There has to be something amiss ,there is a simple answer ,you don't fix a problem even temporarly .with out some indication of the problem ,seems to me there are too many out there for this to be more than a quirk. sounds like the (Idiot senario of doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different conclusion) .some thing simple is a miss and will be found .Too bad you had to be the recipiente of the feasco .I have worked on all kinds of equipment alll my live seems the simpliest in the end is the hardest to fix , you just seem to be looking for the wrong thing in the beginning ,patience and I be willing to bet you will end up happy as well as educated .That is my hope for you !!
  22. This is over simplification ,BUT when you have breathing problems ,everything and anything from fumes to particals irratate and cause problems of some kind and some magnatude ,depending on the severity of the intake .COPD never gets better ( they tell me) .Age and COPD are my only afflictions ,but BABY thats is enough .Do what you can to keep it from being one of you problems . I am not selling a damn thing , You are the capt. of your own ship .I will simply tell you with all sincerity ,when I have trouble breathing (NOTHING ELSE MATTERS) you do not want to know what thats LIKE!!! That's all I can say!!
  23. I would first go to Ricks'scrollsaw site ,post him .I'll bet he can steer you right .There is some thing goofy about all this .
  24. Well don't feel pregnant ,I think we all are our own worst enemy .But all being perfect in our own mind ,just can not believe .In truth what ever you want and feel is right for you is what and how you should make your shop ,suggestions and ideas help ,but none of us can know what is the best for you or anyone else really ,fine job so far ,money well spent and done well ,look forward to it's completion and see the fun start as you get to use it !
  25. There is only one system that works ,seriously ,That is, one that collects the dust at the source and romoves and traps ,& in the perfect world sends it outside . This means (vac.and expell it),not blow it around .not easy or simple to do ,the key word here is at the source .central systems 4" or larger 2hp w/ fein style collectors work well for large volume Table saws , jointer, planers ,routers large sanders Etc .Do they get all ? ,no way!! overhead cleaners are a big help ,filters need changed frequently and are (or can be expensive )Portables ,most comon w/ dust devil type add on .I close looped my scroll saw ,all vac. no blowers or fans I have yet to see a dust free shop , cfm is key .A Round open unobstructed shop (which no one has )with a large exhaust fan would be the easiest best configureation for dust removal And the coldest to operate in .Large volume negitive low pressure sucion with filtered intake ,much like a car paint booth . Hardest and most bedeviling part of a shop .Any thing that gets thru any system that exhausts back onto the shop is a dust blower pure and simple. and moves any extra dust around and a round .Your cheapest easiest ,in MHO is a quiet portable vac w/a fien style or dust devil large fines chamber move tool to tool and get a good mask . I am afraid that is the long and the short of the dust paradox ! Adding insult to injury ,the smallest dust is your enemy not the big stuff .vapors and fumes and sub micron dust . Like the old fellow told the traveler THERE Ain't No Good way to GET there from HERE! Pack a lunch ,it's going to take a while! In the mean time ,buy a good mask ! Enjoy the ride!
