  1. You sir: are a gentleman !!
  2. very nice ,frame is good choice
  3. I'd Call where you bought from or the mfg'r ,better yet and eliminate any doubt.you could smoke the switch ,imho ,being it is not already set up with a female plug in I'd also check to see if amperage is high enough for your purpose. Some are for minor use and hand wired to special low voltage applications ,be worth checking before you alter and can not return if wrong !
  4. All good advice ,I would call it almost (orange peel ) with my magnifier,on it even looks like a dry spot band south of the cross bar ,ck the nozzles of your rattle can Too ,sometimes they get a build up and spray a screwed up pattern , heavy in some areas almost none in others ,also appears to be ultra fine saw dust on parts of Cross .any or a combination can give you fits ,Hope ,this helps !!
  5. Demo of what a( One piece) 4-tier deep relief ,all tiers proud ,can be alternated or reversed as you please ,I just sanded rough the even levels as a demo ,different stains or colors could be on any or all your choice ,no masking required .
  6. THere are many kinds of set screw ,lockers, binder and diggers ,not there real names but what they are used for ,You need a perfectly flat one ,a binder if you will . Just so ,people realize there are more than one type .
  7. Happy olympians ,well done !
  8. Don.t feel bad ,I think thats was what screwed up my clamp screw and caused the blades to bend and finially got the swivel tip on mine ,progressive small things that you do not notice ,that eventually get bad enough that cause problems ,and are then hard to trace because they are progressive. Then you try correcting the wrong things ,causing more trouble, till you finally trace to source.
  9. If you buy there replacement set screws I has the locktight on it ,you probabaly never changed yours ,and it's normally on when you buy the saw ,once you adjust it usually you have to recoat .most people don't think about it .
  10. Amen ! sounds like a game of Gotsha ! They make some real money on their parts ,do thiers have swivel tips ,if not ,I understand the excessive wear issue . Makes complete sense now !thanks again !
  11. Your right on the font ,I just took apiece of scrap and the first stencil that would halfway fit that scrap to see what it would loook like ,the concept was the goal to see how well it would work and what else I could do with it ,might make a real one now !
  12. Ron,It just seemed like a lot I can understand discontinued parts are (gold)and the need to have on hand ,wouldn't it convert to the new style clamps usually finer thread are stronger in thin stock,I'm really talking w/o knowing much about an EX .and I'm sure you use yours much more than I do mine .I appreciate your answering ,I really was curious !Carl
  13. A.K. I made some more cedar slices from a yard tree ,you might find interesting ,starting to use last yrs dry ones, time to make some for next yr.
  14. Why so many ,are they that big a problem on a ex.
  15. I never was any good at metric conversion and new age math
  16. There you go! You can make goffy exagerated letters or figures and the match up pertectly ,you can see exactly what your going to get in the layout ,allows for use of imperfect wood ,good conection to main piece with out changes .Has a lot of advantages .I love it it's fun, easy& saves a lot of wood and extra steps ! You can change colors of indivual pieces any combination that don't bleed over or require masking or secondary steps !
  17. Gottsha !4-1-14
  18. Kevin ,It's done Just like the elephant the owl and the bears only each letter is cut at a slight angle 1-2 1/2 degree depending on thickness of stock and protrusion you want the center of the o and center of the p is positiond to, the height flush w/ the main piece and glued in that position the rest are glued in the raised position ,the neat thing is even if your cuts are not perfect they match perfectly to the main piece ,I used a stencil ,and as you can see the spaceing is off between the s-h ,but you can see that before you cut anything ,make sure angle of tilt and direction of cuts are faced the way you want the letters to face .or you will end up with a recessed sign ,and a raised backwards sign ,makes a neat sign .,and is easy to do .
  19. I like it better than mine ,The detail is mystifing ,Great job! You are right every body like a little ---- few like a smart ----,Larry made me do it!
  20. People were talking about shop signs ,so I thought ,I would do a trial on a one piese raise sign ,heres the results
  21. You done GOOD !
  22. You still keep the floor fantastic ,being on the second floor helps keep out a lot of things that get into a ground floor shop ,w/o a lift of some sort , Boat below ,I thought may be those were grow lite s passed the ply wood barrier . Thanks for not being offended by all the nosey questions .
  23. Larry ,I like it ,because it allows you to define you questions to a point other than generalization and to specifics ,that are not always asked without a little research .I would not discourage ,question s in any way ,but often the ones asked are so general you never get the answer you were really after !
  24. That floor ,wouldn't look like that in my shop , You must take great pains to keep it that way ,my concrete floor catches hell ! I love your lighting ,but I don't think I want your power bill ,What goes on behind the ply wood ? You have interesting cabinet door handles . Well enough about being nosey ,your shop produces some neat stuff ,Later !Carl
  25. Excellent ,fine detail ,your friend will be extatic!
