welcome to our friendly family. I can already tell that you are comfortable with the people here and open to ideas and to responding. I have a Hawk and a DeWalt and I use both but mostly the DeWalt because I like the way it is designed for easy and user friendly. Saws and blades are something that is personalized like cars. Some love Fords and some Dodges and both get you from point A to point B but you can not convince a Ford man that Dodge is worth having. so it is with blades and saws. Just be sure and do not buy the big box store blades as they are not the ones you will want. Ask about them and when you do, be sure and let us know what type of scrolling projects you have in mind, as that has a lot to do with what which blades are best for the project and wood you are using.. I am always happy to find new scrollers that have decided to come on board in our world wide family.. you should feel very welcomed here. Remember we all started with our first piece and I hope you keep your first one because as time goes by, you can look back and chuckle to yourself about how you were struggling to get those zig zag's cut. pretty soon they will be so easy to do, you won't believe it. It is kind of like learning to drive a car and at first every curve was a little challenging and took all your concentration just to get around them smoothly, then after a little bit of experience you never had to give those curves a second thought. same with zig zags. Welcome from Eastern Oregon. I am glad you found us and decided be a part of our family. You are very welcome. I too have made a few fret clocks and people really like them. I know how attractive they are to almost everyone. My wife already has too many clocks so now they end up being wedding and Christmas gifts. I wish to welcome you to our world wide family and hope that you plan to log on often, if you do you will soon understand how friendly the people here are to everyone else. We love the newbies and we are always ready to help you if and when you feel you might be a little confused about something. It could be where to buy blades, wood or find a particular pattern you saw somewhere else. Or perhaps you wish you had a pattern you could cut of a family member or your favorite car or animal, just ask for it in the 'pattern request'' forum and see what happens. Homemade Dust Collection with Box Fan - Just Saying...

haven't tried this method before but. it seems to me that one would put the filter in the front of the fan to keep the dust also out of his unit... Am I missing something here? Could very well be, just a thought Dick heppnerguy -

Thank you everyone for all the nice comments. It is a step up in these kids Christian lives and my wife and I feel honored to be able to have something to give to each of these young ones. I am so thankful that we have so many wonderful pattern makers that presents each of us so many choices to pick from, for whatever need we may be trying to fill with our scrolling, when maybe we ourselves are not very creative on our own. So to all the pattern makers, I extend my gratitude and thanks giving, Without all of you, I am afraid I would not be able to have and continue to have so much joy in having the opportunity to share a memento with others like all your patterns allow us to. Our church has had 5 kids that have been studying for several months to learn the meaning and importance of receiving Holy Communion. As an appreciation of my wife and myself, I made these crosses in remembrance of their achievement. This pattern is a Sue Mey pattern Dick heppnerguy

A great pattern well cut and finished by you. I love this one too and I have it on my list to do things, hopefully before too long.. I can't imagine another matching up to your work here, but everyone has different skill levels anyway.. Nice job Dick heppnerguy

I have yet had the desire to try to cut a record, but I am sure after I go to Paul's and see some that he has done, by that time, I will be looking for some to cut.. Does anyone know if the 45's or 33 1/3 records can also be cut? Dick heppnerguy

The one difference that stands out to me, is the rather large horizontal structure that is on the left side of the Delta and next to the back side of the table. It would seem to me to be a little restrictive to me. I have only seen photos of the saw so I am not sure about it. Other than that, I guess it must be a toss up, from what I read on other people's posts Dick heppnerguy
