  1. I like your clock as it combines a lot of different interests in one piece.. It is functional, decorative, intarsia, fun to make, fun to look at and one you can display on your wall and enjoy for years to come Dick heppnerguy
  2. Tabitha, tell us a little bit about how you went about making the clock and what materials you have used here. I enjoy making clocks too. I love that they are not only fun to make but also functional and decorative. Dick heppnerguy
  3. my heart flutters with excitement as i see you cutting one of my patterns. What an honor. Nice job with it too. Thanks again for considering my meager work worth your time to cut Dick heppnerguy

you are producing some very nice pieces. Keep making sawdust and turning out this kind of work and you will find a lot of people knocking at your door for a piece of your work Dick heppnerguy
  5. I too do not use a sanding mop but I think they could be very handy, especially for intarsia work. I have not purchased one because they seem way over priced to me. I did post a photo of one but I would refer you to the link that Dan posted above me a couple of minutes ago Dick heppnerguy
  6. whoa, I think trackman has found a blade that he is really satisfied with and would like to share his findings with other scrollers here. Nothing that needs to be challenged. Your points are valid but if I had made that post, I think I would have felt a little upset by the way you jumped on it.. Relax......we are all here to share ideas.. and to try and help each other..When one finds a product he or she likes they just want others to know their discovered results...not feel put down with it.. Sorry you felt so strong about the post... Dick heppnerguy
  7. The animal puzzles seem to be all the rage right now. I guess I will just have to give one a go, real soon so I won't feel left out. I like the way this one hangs it's head over the edge. Dick heppnerguy
  8. Way to go Sam, it won't be long and you will have to make one for 50 years, as I did 6 years ago. Keep making nice things for the wife and she will be one happy person.. I love scrolling because I really have a difficult time finding gifts for special times and scrolling takes care of those indecisive moments Dick heppnerguy
  9. Sam, What is holding you back? start making the sawdust and when the dust clears you will find a scroll saw piece waiting to display or sell Dick heppnerguy
  10. This has been around for awhile and I had made one for my son but found his had broken so I decided to replace it as I enjoy this fun and useful piece My thanks to Roly for helping to find this pattern again Dick heppnerguy
  11. Nice little clocks. I personally enjoy making clocks too these are fun ones too look at too Dick heppnerguy
  12. An exceptionally nice keep sake for your daughter she will have this to pass on to her children with pride Dick heppnerguy
  13. Thanks for posting your bowls. It made me remember that I have not cut any bowls for a long time and need to do that again soon. They are useful as well as fun to display and to make. Good job, Dick heppnerguy
  14. All the extra effort was sure worth your time. This turned out to be a really nice, clean piece. A true life time treasure for the lucky couple Dick heppnerguy
  15. A fun, funny and great piece of American memory. This has been around a long time but you brought it back to life Dick heppnerguy
  16. A bread box personified. Truly a piece of art. Dick heppnerguy
  17. Some more fun projects. Just be careful not to overdo things. I remember not too long ago you were at a place where you thought your scrolling days had come to an end, so be careful Dick heppnerguy
  18. A really fun piece. It looks good and it is fun just to look at. Beings you are new to scrolling the time it takes for you to cut and finish this will be shorter as you do more and more projects, so basing your price on time spent from the beginning will mean you will be constantly charging less as you become faster with cutting and finishing for the same piece. I would take the advice of the $20-$25 and know that prices people like and agree with is the price base that will sell you more and more pieces in the future. If, however a person asks you to make something and you name a price the customer thinks is too high, they will either go ahead and purchase it from you at the time but they may feel it is on the high side and hence not come you in the future because they have in their mind that you are just higher than they might want to be spending for gifts. If the customer is happy with your prices they will tell others about you and your goods. Just my take on it. It does not mean it is the correct advice, just my opinion. Dick heppnerguy
  19. Keep making saw dust. A lot of discover lies ahead for you. Good job Dick heppnerguy
  20. A piece that cries with majestic elegance. An attention grabber indeed. One heck of a nice project Dick heppnerguy
  21. Good job, keep posting your nice work. Dick heppnerguy
  22. Nice pattern making and cutting. You are amazing at your work ability Dick heppnerguy
  23. Dang you found it. I thought I had it hit pretty well, too. Just kidding, that escaped my eagle like eye. Ok, my blind eyes, is closers to the truth Thanks for the note. I will correct that and repost tomorrow. Anything else I need to be aware of? Dick heppnerguy
  24. I tried to take the suggestions and make this pattern more cuttable. I eliminated some ot the things in the 1st pattern and added more bridges and enlarged the bridges I already had in place. Not sure that I personally like all the changes but then, if they were needed and I want to learn to make a pattern that someone can use, I NEED to be all ears and open to criticism, That is what I am attempting to do with this pattern. The first pattern I posted a couple of days ago are still in this forum so you can go and look at it too and see if I have actually made some good changes or am I still 'off track; (pun intended) Dick heppnerguy
  25. That is a really cute pattern. I too like Sam Custodio's patterns a lot. You did an outstanding job with this. Who ever gets this one will also receive a lot of awes from the viewers of it. Good choice for cutting Dick heppnerguy
