  1. I wouldn't want to even try something as demanding as this. Way too lazy and dumb for that Dick heppnerguy
  2. He certainly had me totally amazed as well. What a brain he has, and a long endurance ability to be able to produce this at 17 years of age, or any age as far as that goes Dick heppnerguy
  3. It is....for sure. He is way smarter than am I Dick heppnerguy
  4. and the accelerator as well. This kid should have a great future ahead of him Dick heppnerguy
  5. I too was blown away that anyone, let alone a 17 year old could even dream of making this, (even if there were plans to follow, which I understand there was not). It is one of the most unbelievable thing I have ever seen anyone make. Dick heppnerguy
  6. My understanding was, it was all his doing with no outside help. There are several videos of this item on YouTube. It is an extremely interesting piece of work. Nothing on it is short cut-ed the transmission, rear end, and other parts are copies from the way they are in a real car. Even if that is not true and I misinterpreted the process, it is fabulous for anyone to make. I just had to share it. Dick heppnerugy
  7. I ran across this YouTube video of one of the most impressive things I have ever seen someone do with wood. You will not want to miss this, as I am pretty sure it will knock your socks off. Do yourself a favor and click on the link. This Amazing thing was done by a 17 year old boy. Dick heppnerguy
  8. I have always said that scrolling is like sewing. It caused me to go along with your view also, Women who sew probably have an easier time learning to scroll. Dick heppnerguy
  9. that is a good way to do it. I use it on rare occasions too. Dick heppnerguy
  10. I do not see where there could be a magnet. it the balls themselves were magnetic they would attract each other at the top and then they could not go down the hole. That leaves the only place a magnet could be placed to attract the balls would be in the bottom of the round piece of wood and it certainly could not attract the balls coming off the wire below. If a magnet was strong enough to do that, it also would attract the balls to stay together. Dick heppnerguy
  11. I was not aware of that at all. Don't know that I have ever used boiled linseed oil yet but I am now certain I will not start using them. Thanks for posting this. I have others, like myself, that are not aware of this problem, see it too. Dick heppnerguy
  12. I am so proud of your progress. I have been paying attention to your posted work from the time you first joined with us and you have become quite the scroller. You obviously pay close attention to what you are working on and the posts show you have come a long way. Great job. Dick heppnerguy
  13. I saw this pattern somewhere before, maybe it was one Etsy. It is so cute and your neighbor will be head over heals when you finish it and give it to her, as people are so attached to their animals. A perfect gift. Nice job on it too. Dick heppnerguy
  14. Very well done. With all the sharp points on the maple leaves, I can understand why it took awhile to cut. However that patterns that take us a long time to cut, are the ones that are always the most satisfied when we finish them. One question for you... How do you go about cutting those sharp pointed areas? Just wondering as I have done them so many different ways as I have been doing my scrolling and it seems every once in awhile I change the way I do them Dick heppnerguy
  15. Another way that helps a lot to find the drilled hole on the bottom of the pattern is to take a pencil and twirl it while it is inserted in the bottom of the drilled holes. You won't believe how much easier it is to find the hole that way. Dick heppnerguy
  16. Well thank you.. what a nice way to compliment someone and I was the lucky receiver of it. Dick heppnerguy
  17. Nice sign.. can you tell me what font you used on it. I really like it Dick heppnerguy
  18. Better the vehicles then the house. Still a difficult loss. Being without one's vehicles has got to be very hard. Those trees were guided away from the house, Thank you God. So sad when one gets hit by nature this way, but so thankful, most of all, that everyone is OK. Dick heppnerguy
  19. Sam does have some fun and relatively easy patterns. I especially like what he did with the State's patterns. Be sure and check them all out. The frame is really not a frame but rather a simple four pieces of straight sticks of wood glued onto the front sides of the scrolled piece. It does give it a bit more of an appearance that it is a finished and framed project without really having a frame Dick heppnerguy
  20. The frame was the simplest way to do one, as it is only 4 small pieces of wood glued onto the front edge of the plaque. So really isn't a real frame but it does add something to the finish that does not take any talent or real knowledge to do. Thanks for the nice comments. Dick heppnerguy
  21. thank you so much. I thought the simple glue on frame was ok for this one and of course took very little effort on my part Dick heppnerguy
  22. It was an easy cut but it's eye appeal for me was way too much to not take the time to cut it Dick heppnerguy
  23. Well it is a fun and easy cut for sure. It had too much eye appeal to me to not cut it, if only to hang on my shop wall Dick heppnerguy
  24. I thank you once more for your supportive comments. I appreciate you taking your time to do so Dick heppnerguy
  25. I did not think it was one I wanted to spend much time to frame and this was a quick fix. Not sure what I am going to do with it now. Dick heppnerguy
