  1. An impressive looking machine. I don't think I will have anything like that in my time. Good luck with it and let us know how it works out.
  2. Congratulations on the new saw Brenda and good luck with it, it looks awesome. Having the 'old' one repaired will double your enjoyment as there will be no more down time awaiting spare parts. lol
  3. I would buy twice what is needed and that should last a very long time. It would be a lot cheaper too.
  4. I will speak now. Try Bearing King first.
  5. Hi Brenda, If you have an accurate size for the bushing you need you can contact Bearing King Ltd in Rotherham. I have 2 numbers here 01709 527269 which I think is the correct number and I have 01709 916714 and I am not sure where I picked that up. I have been out to the shed and had a look at my Aldi machine and the bearings are Oilite Bushes and measure 15mm od x 10mm bore and I don't know the length but Bearing King have this size of bush at 16mm long ie 16 x 15 x 10mm and it is priced at 93p + VAT = £1.12p EACH Hope this helps. take care Don W Edit They have flanged bearings as well and Tony knows will know what to order from them.
  6. An excellent piece of work. Thanks for showing.
  7. Great cut, I love it.
  8. Kevin, I am also a member of the benboxlaser.us forum and have learned everything I need from there. Ralph has created a great program and explains a great deal of what you need to know and why. A great site and has a section for the T2 laser users as well. take care Don W
  9. That's a great looking Jeep you cut there. Very well done.
  10. Kevin, I use V-Carve desktop 10.0 on my Stepcraft CNC router and it is a good combination. I used it to cut the parts for a wooden geared clock which it does almost perfectly compared to cutting with the scroll saw. I also have a large laser engraver, around 500 mm by 650 mm that does a great job engraving but can only cut through 1/8" ply. This engraver I use 'T2 Laser' program on and it works faultlessly. I recommend you have a look at 'T2 Laser' as Zax (the writer) is the most knowledgeable person I know with laser programming. His programme is a free download and free trial and I think about $30 to purchase, I have it on 3 machines, the original I purchased and then 2 others I installed on other computers at half price. The free trial is limited to 30 minutes at a time then you have to reload but it gives you a good idea of what you can do. I think it all 'hand crafting' whatever way you look at it and I am happy saying my stuff is 'home made'. Just my 2 cents ..... PS I don't think you are cheating
  11. Great work there, quite amazing pieces. I love the raptors they are my favourites.
  12. @ amazingkevin, I only cut one thanks, that was plenty. I posted on Pattern Requests as I wanted to thank Travis for the original design and to show what I made of it. @ John B, I am getting used to the spirals a bit better now. This was a piece of 1/8" 3 ply and the #0 spiral blade was a bit too course, there was a lot of problems with this cutting. I will try and stick with 1/4" Baltic Birch Ply in the future.
  13. I have finished the 3 dogs pattern that TDpainter drew for me. Thanks again Travis. I used a mix of blades on this, including spirals, but I reckon the ply was was too thin at 1/8", I reckon it should have been 1/4" baltic birch at least. The original request can be found in 'Pattern Requests'
  14. Great job, well done. So many holes there just like the project I am doing at the moment.
  15. Awesome piece of work. I am lost for words.
  16. Welcome Richard, you will like it here. You have made a good start we love pictures. lol
  17. I reckon I should have all the patterns, my trouble will be finding them. lol
  18. Thanks for that spirithorse. I knew it was from someone but I could not remember who. I have a series of Christmas pieces to do, the Magi I have already finished, but there is still a Nativity and a Shepherd with sheep, hopefuly I may get those done this year. I think the Magi took about 3 months. I will have a look for the pictures of the Magi , I am sure they are on here somewhere. Found them here (I hope) Magi finished By don watson, February 21, 2018 in Intarsia/Segmentation Sorry about that, I believe the nativity scenes etc. that I am thinking about are Kathy Wise designs.
  19. I think this is really a Segmentation. It is something similar to Intarsia but it only uses one piece of wood, ie the pattern is one piece and glued on to a large enough piece of wood and then cut out. With this method the parts all (mostly) fit together. I use a KIRJES Inflatable Drum Sander for the majority of my sanding and then use old fashioned elbow grease. I would recommend trying Segmentation as there are some simple designs that give a perfect piece at the first try. take care Don W
  20. Hi All, Just finished the Panda pattern I had lying around. Don't know who designed this but it was easy as a Segmentation and painted. Don W
  21. Brenda, Just a short aside, I see you use a nylon brush to clean the roller/abrasives on the Clarke sander. I would get a cleaner, I got mine from Screwfix, it does a great job, the sander comes up like new. take care Don W PS https://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-abrasive-belt-cleaner-76mm/16210?_requestid=197314
  22. Well done Kevin. I sometimes use spirals for the same reason.
  23. Looks brilliant, a place for everything and everything in its place. take care Don W
  24. Have you tried this source ? https://www.hegner.co.uk/spare-part-finder Don W
  25. Welcome Graham you are in the right place. We thrive on questions but we really love pictures. Don W
