  1. Cardboard box also, but I stand a used furnace filter up at the back. I stick pattern onto filter and spray 3M77. The furnace filter catches the over spray and the pattern doesn’t go blowing away.
  2. I’ll take the Hegner clamps over the EX and Pegas clamps any day. I don’t think it takes any longer to change blades with the Hegner vs EX. But if it does take longer, I don’t particularly care. When I’m running my scrollsaw, I’m I my own little world and time is irrelevant.
  3. My first was an AMT. it was my dads. He made the most beautiful intarsia pieces with it. I had no such luck. My next one was a craftsman. Both of these saws were pin only. Both also collected dust from lack of use. My nephew gave me a DW788 and what a difference. That got me hooked. Since then, I’ve purchased two EX-21’s and two Hegner’s. (I have a summer shop and a winter shop) I still have all four, but use only the Hegners. The only time I’ll use the EX’s is when I need to tilt the head.
  4. Wow! Those are awesome!
  5. I agree with Ctutor. Ocooch. They are really good to work with.
  6. Rey, very nice!
  7. What thickness did you use Dick? Looking at the pattern from the site, it says to use 1/4”. The photo you posted looks thicker than that. I’m thinking 1/2-3/4” would make it look “more full”. Also easier to round the edges.
  8. Looks like a lot of fun to make and paint. Very nice!
  9. Impressive!
  10. Very interesting, thank you for your “experiment”. I too am a huge fan of Pegas blades. Love the MGT blades!
  11. I couldn’t agree more. Well said
  12. Nice boards! I have an oak cutting board from a huge oak that came from our land. The board is about 25 years old. When we use it, we make sure it is good and dry before putting it away.
  13. I picked up my “new” Hegner this week. I ordered a quick clamp and quick tension rod from Advanced Machinery and they showed up yesterday. This is a 30 year old saw and damn, it runs so very smooth. Now I have one for my summer shop and one for my winter shop. I found the saw on Market Place. While there I also picked up a Porter Cable router and router table with fine adjust. And in the 2nd picture is a 6” digital height gauge. Been looking for one for quite awhile. They accepted my offer of $350.00 plus a Coin Drop that I make. Pretty good deal I’d say. By the way, if anyone is interested in an EX-21, I have two for sale. Going cheap.
  14. Wow! That is very very nice! I can’t imagine doing the railing. Again, very cool!
  15. I bought a brand new Hegner a year and half ago. I really like it. That’s why I thought I’d get another one. (I have two shops, my winter shop is in the basement and my summer shop is in an uninsulated detached garage.). I also have two EX-21’s. I guess I’m becoming a hoarder of scrollsaws. I prefer the blade clamps on the Hegner vs the EX21’s and they have the Pegas chucks. I’m picking up the saw and a few other things in the morning. I’ll give Patti at Hegner a call to see what she recommends. Thanks again for all your input, I do appreciate it
  16. Thanks for all your replies. Sorry Kevin, no photos, as I have not picked it up yet. I’ll post one when I bring it home it is a MutliMax 18 variable speed. if I purchase the clamp like the one in the picture that Wichman posted, without a quick release, will fret work be a pain in the neck? I made the mistake of surfing Marketplace yesterday morning and found the saw. Like an idiot, I pursued it.
  17. I just purchased a ‘93 Hegner. It has the original blade clamps on it. Can I put the quick change blade attachment on this old of a saw?
  18. Looks fun! I bet that was quite the challenge
  19. Very cool! Nice twist to the birdhouse ornaments
  20. I also use my drill press. I have a chuck that will take a .040 drill bit,
  21. Awesome! Your nephew will love it
  22. Very nice. I had to go look at it again to find the child peeking out of the wagon.
  23. Very impressive and very cool!
