  1. I think the DeWalt is one of the most used saws by beginners. So, how can it be too aggressive for beginners...? I really started on a DeWalt and as far as I was concerned it was not aggressive, I had really nothing to compare it with... After years of scrolling, I know the Hegner is less aggressive than the DeWalt and the Excalibur type saws... Does not make the Hegner better,,, it is just less aggressive.... You can learn to compensate for the aggressive cutting wit the blades used... I use a Hegner most the time,,, but I also use a Seyco... Like them both... but the Hegner FITS ME BEST.. Not the best for everyone... We are all different.
  2. Very well done!
  3. MIGHTY,, FINE!
  4. Very well done!
  5. We have the same setups.... Hegner and Seyco. I modified my Hegner so the arm will lift higher(Just did this a few weeks ago). It helps with the bottom feeding some,,, but I would not do it on a new saw that is under warranty. I also moved the blower to the right side of my saw because I have my dust collection nozzle on the left side... and made a little bigger table for it,,,
  6. Very nice, looks like you are doing well with the Hegner.... When I got mine, we didn't get along to well and I just couldn't seem to get things working.... broke a lot of blades.... I got discussed and quit using it for a month or two... then thought I paid for I have the make it work.... Went back to it fired it up and whamo... things worked great.... It is my go to saw and the other saw sits.... I would not be without my Hegner.... I think my problem at first was getting a feel for the tension....
  7. Yes, this guy is in Barnaul, Russia.
  8. Anyone tried on of these 3D puzzles? I enjoy the few flat type puzzles I have cut.... may have to give this a try one day. Also check out his scroll saw.... Guess you don't need fancy.
  9. Nice cutting! I hope you will post the finished one.. It going to be a real eye catcher... Sorry but I had to smile at your comment about having to move over a little towards the side of your saw to cut a straight line... really? You can't just turn the wood a little to compensate for the drift..? So when you cut a corner or circle, do you have to walk around your saw as you cut it??? I know what you mean, but, got a picture of it in my mind and it made me chuckle a little...
  10. I have not followed all of this thread,,, because I no longer own a DeWalt but I will ask/suggest two things... Check youtube if you have not.... That is my first go to repair place.... There are videos on all types of repairs/rebuilds on all types of equipment.... and two, I know there are two, maybe more sites/videos on the DeWalt scroll saw...and I think they are mentioned in this thread.... . If they do not discuss your problem.... have tried to email them and let them listen to your recording.... They may be willing to help.... Having owned a DeWalt scroll saw,,, I know you have a problem.... It does not sound normal,,, at all... but it may and probably is an easy fix...
  11. Great scrollings.... How thick are the slabs?
  12. I hate screws/bolts that you have to use allen wrenches on.... but I like spirals.... and I like straight blades..
  13. Well done.... All ready for next Christmas!
  14. Very nice scene.... Peaceful
  15. Might search Facebook... there was a group there.. I don't have an account anymore so I can't search it.

  17. Great key hanger! We had a cat just like that,,, my daughter named her "Mercedes"...
  18. That turned out great... I love the coloring.
  19. For a new Hegner,,,, I make my wife a sleigh also...!!! Nice sleigh..... super saw.
  20. I missed this post,,, I vote really, really nice...
  21. I have had a Craftsman, DeWalt, Excalibur, Seyco and a Hegner.... If I knew when I started, what I know now.... I would have bought the Hegner first and skipped the rest,,, and actually spent less money.. I really think the same would apply to the Hawk.... But no one knows that beginning.... and in the beginning no one knows how much they will enjoy scrolling and stick with it...
  22. The reason I do not use tape... I glue directly to the wood, take the pattern off with MS. Nice cuttings.
  23. @kmmcrafts, Today I posted a picture on "Lumberjocks" of the Fiona Kingdon Entwined tree that I finished cutting recently... I got this response from one of the members, "Could you share some info on how you set up your cnc carving (bits, feed rates, program used, etc) for this beautiful project?" Did not offend me,,, I took it as a compliment.
  24. Welcome to the Village... You will enjoy it here.
