  1. I use a flat edges x-actor blade to remove tape when I use tape.
  2. Is this upgrade worth doing? https://stores.bushtonhawkstore.com/upper-blade-holder-bracket-conversion-kit/
  3. Good work. When I Have a bunch of straight likes that I want a wider kerf, I cut down the middle of the line with a straight blade, and then go over it again with a spiral blade. The spiral easily follows the first cut and widens the turf just right. Not sure how that would work with a hand fret saw.
  4. Well my Hawk like every scroll saw I have owned, vibrates at some speeds, I think is more of a product of my cement floor than the saws.
  5. Along these lines, I broke down yesterday morning and made a knob for the upper clamp of my Hawk. I made one earlier but it was not comfortable. For this one, I fired up my lathe and did it correctly. Just the size I wanted and turned the original knob down so I could get a nice press fit into the wooden knob. Used it all day yesterday and it worked very well.
  6. ahh do you have a life raft?
  7. Cool dude, cool man, Que Pasa. That is all the Spanish I know. Okay settle down, I am not really bilingual, just a wannabe. Great job!
  8. HOLLY MOLLY, Allen You are really moving right along. That is a great piece of scrolling and finishing!
  9. Marie has the "artist's touch". Never just a plain flat cut like me. She knows how to embellish. She is an artist!
  10. @Charlie E you getting the rains Tennessee is. My son lives outside of Memphis, and he is drowning! Sent me videos of it today, reminded me of Monsoon season. Only Monsoon can last three months or more.
  11. @heppnerguy I don't think is illegal in Alabama, But being it is old Willie, they would want to search the truck looking for Pot! Willie has always been noted for his love for Pot. You know, "mary-a-joe-wanta".
  12. A torch is a flashlight, Australian is about the only foreign language I can speak some of and understand most.
  13. I like those. May have to try some for fun. I read and am always looking for my book mark. They disappear in my sheets and I don't find them until I change sheets!
  14. @kmmcrafts just checked mine, It took a 3/32 allen.
  15. Been there, done that. It was better but not want.
  16. Nice scrolling.
  17. I hear you. Not only request for patterns but even introductions. I find myself not responding until the new member has responded to previous welcomes. Why does someone come on once to introduce themselves and never come back? Are they that lonely? I hope not.
  18. @JTTHECLOCKMAN It does. Like I said I like simple. The tensioning on the Hawk, just too many clanky things that do not need to be. In my opinion. But I like the saw, not sorry I got it. And will adjust it to my needs. Been using it a lot lately. Got to find a better knob for the upper clamp that does not give me wrist pains to use it. Enjoy the conversation with you.
  19. I have the pattern for the Gandalf one in the upper right. Just have not done it yet!
  20. @rdatelle I could not find them on Shelia Landry's site but found some on Sue Mey's site. I was hoping to see something about how it is done And there you go, answered before I got through asking!
  21. I say those are really first-rate. Never have seen ones made with a scroll saw before. I'm anxious to know how well they sell. Great job!
  22. I like that clock, the "Tolkien" is a great addition.
  23. It has a 1/4" shaft, so it would fit in that chuck.
  24. No, Mine is mounted on my wood lathe. I want to mount it on a slow speed grinder I have, but it is too fast for me. Some day I want to set it up to stacked pulleys so I have some control of the speed. Got the parts, just have not taken the time.
  25. Denny, yours must be about as old is mine. That is around what I paid, Now they are over $60!
