    Thanks for the great info, I will cancel My dream of a handheld fret saw and stay with what I have. I get tired scrolling with a scrollsaw!

    You are busy. Best of luck in all your endeavors. Will be able to post some of the synchronized swimming. I find it fascinating.

    I would take samples/pictures of different types of things that can be done with a scroll saw: Fretwork, puzzles, intarsia, 3D, inlay, relief, etc. So they realize you can do wonderful things with a scroll saw. At the end of the class, I would highly recommend they join Scroll Saw Village. Prepare a handout that addresses this, plus where to get patterns, and supplies Print out some of the info from resources, on this site, like vendors and patterns sellers. Maybe Woodcraft may not like you listing any of their competitors. I would expect to see many more scrollers on the east side of this state!! I'm excited. If you happen to run across someone from my area, feel free to give me a contact, To help them in any way I can with their scrolling. I know no one from my area will travel to Spokane for a class, but just in case that miracle happens.. There is another gentleman on here from Spokane who makes hulls for RC hydroplane boats. He is not here often, but I think he still stops I once and a while.

    The only thing I could find through my store (have to be ordered) are by Columbia Forest Products, referred to as Purebond. 12" x 12"

    That is a great picture. Well done. You see very few pictures of a modern-day diesel engine. I do not know why.

    I use a flat edges x-actor blade to remove tape when I use tape.

    Good work. When I Have a bunch of straight likes that I want a wider kerf, I cut down the middle of the line with a straight blade, and then go over it again with a spiral blade. The spiral easily follows the first cut and widens the turf just right. Not sure how that would work with a hand fret saw.

    Well my Hawk like every scroll saw I have owned, vibrates at some speeds, I think is more of a product of my cement floor than the saws.

    Along these lines, I broke down yesterday morning and made a knob for the upper clamp of my Hawk. I made one earlier but it was not comfortable. For this one, I fired up my lathe and did it correctly. Just the size I wanted and turned the original knob down so I could get a nice press fit into the wooden knob. Used it all day yesterday and it worked very well.

    Marie has the "artist's touch". Never just a plain flat cut like me. She knows how to embellish. She is an artist!

    @Charlie E you getting the rains Tennessee is. My son lives outside of Memphis, and he is drowning! Sent me videos of it today, reminded me of Monsoon season. Only Monsoon can last three months or more.

    @heppnerguy I don't think is illegal in Alabama, But being it is old Willie, they would want to search the truck looking for Pot! Willie has always been noted for his love for Pot. You know, "mary-a-joe-wanta".

    I like those. May have to try some for fun. I read and am always looking for my book mark. They disappear in my sheets and I don't find them until I change sheets!

    I hear you. Not only request for patterns but even introductions. I find myself not responding until the new member has responded to previous welcomes. Why does someone come on once to introduce themselves and never come back? Are they that lonely? I hope not.

    @JTTHECLOCKMAN It does. Like I said I like simple. The tensioning on the Hawk, just too many clanky things that do not need to be. In my opinion. But I like the saw, not sorry I got it. And will adjust it to my needs. Been using it a lot lately. Got to find a better knob for the upper clamp that does not give me wrist pains to use it. Enjoy the conversation with you.

    I have the pattern for the Gandalf one in the upper right. Just have not done it yet!
