  1. Glad to have you back. I look forward to getting to know you, again.
  2. That is a great piece. The little pirate is going to treasure that the rest of his lifr.
  3. Very well done!
  4. Welcome back.. always happy to have people retrun.
  5. Just finished this. It is to go with a previous one I did some time ago. I have two more I am going to try eventually. I tried some new things this time. I cut the white and removed the pattern from those pieces but left the pattern on the rest of the picture. Sprayed the white pieces. Last time, I hand-painted them. This worked well and was much easier and faster.
  6. Humm. I would think the blades would last less time. The same teeth go through the wood over and over more than with a longer stroke at the same speed. I would think they would dull quicker. I am not sure I am making myself clear. Guess I need to try it. I cut something recently, and I really wanted accurate cuts, so I slowed the speed way down. I could cut more accurately, but it was very painful going that slow. I also wanted to cut slowly because I wanted to try some double-bevel marquetry one of these days.
  7. Nice work, Denny. I have always wanted to make a set of those, but I never get invited weddings. I guess my dancing on tables dressed in a kelt playing my bagpipes is not appreciated.
  8. And Advance Machinery's answer is: " is this a Hegner saw - Advanced Machinery Inbox Search for all messages with label Inbox Remove label Inbox from this conversation Advanced Machinery Support <[email protected]> 7:43 AM (38 minutes ago) to me Hi Paul, Thanks so much for reaching out about the Scroll Saw information. I'm here to help! I completely understand how the similarity in color could lead to some confusion. However, this particular Scroll Saw is not from Hegner, it's from a different manufacturer - which is Central Machinery. Hegner is made in Germany while the Central Machinery brand is manufactured in Taiwan as shown in the link provided. We appreciate your effort to clarify this information and if you have any other concerns, feel free to send us a message anytime. Have a great day ahead! Best, Advanced Machinery Customer Support"
  9. Hmm. it's not really a bad idea. But being master of my castle, I do not need to try to fool my spouse, I do what I want! Okay, honey, I am going back to my basement workshop.......
  10. WOW! That is a puzzle. I looked several times. Look, Hegner to me, surely a Hegner stand, worth$200 these days. I think I will send it to Advance Machinery and see what they say. I can see some missing parts if it is a Hegner, but that old of a machine doen't mean it is not...
  11. Great job. Dick. You have been whipping them out lately...
  12. So far, we have had a very mild winter. High 30's and low 40's with a few low 50s thrown in. But hang on, February can sometimes be our worst.
  13. Well done.
  14. Got to try that one of these days.
  15. Just finished up another little toy for the young friend. Another Steve Good pattern.
  16. For me, Adobe is slow to load and sometimes, what loads the print post option does not work. That is why I ended up with "SplitPrint". Works with PDF, JPG and some others. Gives cut marks if requested. Size by inches, mm, or number of pages.
  17. Fun, ain't it! Showed my wife, she said he had enough toys. I said as I always do, Humm! Ain't seen nothing yet!
  18. Interesting. I know about being able to change the stroke, but I have never tried it on mine. May get brave and give it a go.
  19. I found that alcohol cleans up 3M77 very well. Any alcohol, rubbing, denatured, does not matter. I have attached several cutting to a backer using 3M77 an all are still together after several years.
  20. Makes for some beautiful boxes.
  21. Very nice clean cutting. I use pin nails a lot when stack cutting. Just the way I do it.
  22. Denny's fluorescent one looks just like the one I referred to as a "Hawk" light in my previous post.
  23. One comment: I have three. A HF one and a HAWK one, meaning the guy I purchased my Hawk from, bought it with the saw, and an expensive one. The expensive one is 5x, LED, and I rarely use it other than when I need more light over my workbench. For me, it is too bright and has two powerful magnifications. The HF on is good; I like it, and the Hawk is my favorite, It is old, so old that when I switch it on, it takes a second to light up. I love it's brightness, kind of the old yellowish glow that old fluorescent lights gave off. I use it most. I will be sad when it finally dies.
  24. @alexfox I used the Halloween one this year, even my older grandkids (In their 20's were excited with them). I have the Christmas box to do for next year.
  25. I think my Seyco saw was like that and I loved it, but that does not mean all will. Different strokes for different folks, as they say.
