  1. Sorry, I meant to add that. A Steve Good plan search monster truck. n his catalog.
  2. A friend of my wife's just went through a divorce. Father is a jerk. Anyway, she has a little son who had a rough start in life and had many health issues, but at almost three, he is doing really well. His grandfather does not live close by and really does not show a lot of interest in having a grandson. So, good for me, I have another little one I can make things for. His mother said she took him to a Monster Truck show a while back. NOW, all he talks about are the Monster Trucks. So, I just finished the first of what I hope to be several toys. I am going to have a great time and use up a bunch of scrap wood.
  3. If it is not a thick piece I do two at a time.
  4. I have had a HF dust collector for many years. Been a good one for me, I do not have it plumbed in, I drag around a hose to where I need it. I added an expensive filter on top.. Wow, If I had to get a new one, I would not hesitate to get this one shown, Looks like they made every upgrade I would have wanted. The on-off switch gave out on mine. Probably could have taken it apart, cleaned it and it would have been okay, but I purchased a remote switch so I could turn it on and off from anywhere in the shop.
  5. My 17" Jet DP chuck also closes all the way. Very nice to have.
  6. Glad to have you join us in the Village. Lots of free patterns in the Patterns section and information in the Resources section.
  7. At this site, click on "Shop" then "Scroll saw patterns" www.fionakingdon.com Be prepared to sit for at least 30 minutes just watching her amazing scroll art scroll by. You will see what I mean.
  8. One of my favorites is Beech. Not many mention it. Not a lot of color variations and little grain, but I love scrolling it.
  9. Welcome to the village. Glad to have you join us.
  10. Old oddball me here. I have press-on press-off on all my none deadly machines. I figure after it dawns on my wife that my scroll saw has been running for three days, solid she may come and check on me. To see if I am still alive.
  11. I use the FD 3/0 quite often for veining. I put the top of the blade in the bottom clamp first While it is in the holder and clamp it down, the helps straighten the spiral at the top of the blade. I use it as a sorta mini vice, before clamping the bottom of the blade in it. It is not perfect but it helps.
  12. Welcome to the Village. Glad to have you. Keep us posted about your new saw. They are new on the market so very little history.
  13. The quick clamp should be held tight in the top holder. the regular clamp should move some in the top holder "Use the QuickClamp instead of a standard blade clamp at the upper end of your sawblade, and align your blade instantly! A positive stop helps you put your blade in the same position every time, and the easy-grip knurled aluminum knob places pressure directly on the blade for slip-free tightening. Unlike the standard HEGNER blade clamp, the QuickClamp is designed to be locked into place in the upper arm of your HEGNER saw at all times. And since it doesn't require a wrench, it's super-fast to release and re-tighten for speedy blade changes, especially for frequent inside cuts! The QuickClamp is supplied complete as shown, and accepts all blade sizes." When I first got my Hegner, I broke a lot of blades. But when I got used to it and the tension. that went away. I rarely break blades anymore. I have never used any of Advance Machinery blades, so I can not speak for them. I will add I purchased a used Hawk a few months ago. The same problem, was breaking blades. But after getting a feel for the tension on that saw, that went away.
  14. Very beautiful!
  15. @GPscroller That is one awesome scrolling piece.
  16. I have the Klingspor Mac Mops. Three grits. I love them and use them most for sanding fuzzies off the back of my scroll work. They are spendy but I have had mine for many years now.
  17. There are different grades of BB. It is really hard to find the real good grade anymore, at least where I live. I have been ordering from Ocooch and receive good grades. But it gets expensive with shipping costs. Last time I looked locally at a store that specializes in plywood, they had sheets of junk that I would not consider buying.
  18. So nice, Charlie. I have always loved that picture; I have the pattern, and maybe someday I will get to it.

  20. I have two favorites from 2024. First was the Halloween candy box, with the secret way to open it. It was a big hit for old any young alike. Second was the Nativity I did for this year's. Christmas.
