  1. Welcome to the Village. I think you will enjoy it here.
  2. Very cute! Well done.
  3. These are very nice pieces. Great job.
  4. Nice job. I did that with a Mr and Mrs Santa Claus last year. They were a great hit.
  5. Here is another great sight for plans. https://lisaboyer.com/Claytonsite/Claytonsite1.htm. I have done his robot Laboratory plans, and all worked great except one, I emailed back, and we figured out why. He was great to work with and very enthused. and helpful. It was not my problem, but between us, we figured out a needed change. And yes, these clocks and their gears can be cut on a scroll saw. The workers were available. But we advised they are not like normal clocks, and I think most only run for a short time. Like 30 minutes or so. I have cut out one clock and had trouble getting it to run, but it is still on my shelf, and I hope to get back to it sometime. Go for it, it is a challenge. But many have succeeded. To me it would be a success like I felt when I built a hand crank street organ and heard the first clear notes from it, all most as exciting as my children being born! Well not maybe not quite as much as babies being born. But getting there.
  6. Glad you have joined us. Scrolling is a great way to pass the time while retired.
  7. Yes, you did a great job. I purchased the pattern, but they will have to wait until next year. Just not enough time now.
  8. It seems like no matter what other spray adhesive I try, I go back to 3M 77. That means they will be taking it off the market. Like so many other things I like to use.
  9. Every year I try to do a nativity scene. This year, I picked more of a picture than a scene that has to be set up. This is a Sue Mey design. My picture taking skills are declining along with my scrolling skills. But I finished it.
  10. Well done. I went to the site that I purchased the pattern from and it does not appear to be available any more. I did it in 2015 using Flying Dutchman 3/0 New Spiral blades. I do not think I could have done it then or now with straight blades.
  11. Clever! Well done.
  12. If you are talking about this thread, I think I am the only one who implied that. And that is just a theory I have. No fact to back up myself.
  13. I search by category, then scroll through the patterns until I find the one I am looking for. Only down side, I usually find other patternsI think I need to save along the way.
  14. Cute little fella!
  15. For a paper cup to be used as a form for bending wood around, the wood would have to be almost paper-thin. I am anxious to see what you come up with.
  16. I do not think even many of the expensive ones hold up the going on and off all the time like is done with a scroll saw. They are more for sander or circular saws that go for a while and then off. My Fien only lasted 3 years and 3 months. I now have an on/off foot switch for my vac. I leave it going when going from hole, to the next. I could be wrong, just my theory. But I also use an on/off foot switch for my scroll saws. I do not care for the dead man switches.
  17. Well, dagnabbit Alex got me again! I have no choice! NEW YEARS resolution NO MORE PATTERNS well be purchased (same as last years)
  18. Very well done. I Bet it is popular. I checked out the site. Some very neat patterns. I added it to the "pattern shops" page in "Resources"
  19. Well done!
  20. That's really nice. I think you and I do a great job supporting Alex Fox. I always enjoy making his items. Just delivered 4 of his Gnomes today to my neighbor. They are to be given to her Granddaughters to paint and put together. It will be a fun Christmas project for them to do. I let them pick out which gnomes they wanted to make.
  21. Welcome, glad to have you.
