  1. You could use a monkey puzzle pattern, only don't make it a puzzle. Or try monkey silhouettes or coloring books.
  2. Candy boxes for various grandchildren. Mine and others. Alex Fox Pattern.
  3. You did a great job on that!
  4. Great job!
  5. Just so you I have been doing something. I am finished with the Halloween candy boxes (Alex Fox Pattern). I am so done! I have three more cut out, but I do not intend to finish them. Maybe next year. I enjoy the cutting, the painting, not so much. I have got to fill them with candy and wait time the time to ship them. So done with the painting. Painting sucks!
  6. That is a great piece. Took a lot of thought, patience, and talent. Job well done1
  7. Very beautiful piece of art!
  8. Very well done! Good to see you survived Helene. Some parts of N Carolina were hit pretty hard I think.
  9. Those are real nice. Yet another avenue to explore in scrolling.
  10. I'm glad to see you enjoying this so much. You are really doing great. Now, I won't feel so lonesome on the FW forum. I hope I can keep up with you.
  11. Steve has two patterns called Serenty. I think Fish cut the board he scrolled it on to the shape he wanted.
  12. I recently purchased a used Hawk 226vs scroll saw. An added bonus that came with it is a good-sized box of scroll saw books and magazines. I have been having a great time going through the box to see what is what. I already have some of the books, but some are new to me. The magazines are great; they appear to be mostly the old "Creative Woodworks Crafts" magazines. All from the early 2000'nds! I laid in bed last evening and looked through around 15 of them. From time to time on here, people have mentioned looking for an old one for a special pattern they wanted. If someone is looking for something, let me know, and I will watch for it as I go through the issues. Might get lucky.
  13. Humm! " out of the closet",, I was not going to judge. I have the same many piles of projects.
  14. @Allen levine, usually, the largest blade I have used is a #5. That was for thick wood, 3D cutting. I normally use a #2 or less skip pegas. But I rarely scroll more than 3/8" thick stacked. For 3D cutting, I use a double skip with fewer teeth than a skip. Anxious to see how you like intarsia. I have done a little of it. I Want to do more. To me, that is really where the artist of scroll sawing starts. Selection of woods and shaping. The only thing, in my opinion, above that is double bevel marquetry. Do not get upset, people this is my opinion. But marquetry is the real scroll saw art to me. I only wish I had the talent to do it. But time is not over for me. Went to to the Doctor yesterday, he thought I was doing very well for my advanced age (advanced age, excuse me!). I to him, he is 42, just a child yet, I hope he is as happy at my age as I am (80), That damn whippersnapper!
  15. Very well done
  16. Al, you are doing great! I will soon be asking you for help!
  17. I have a great place, the only thing that could make it better is more space. It is part of a daylight basement, heated and cooled with the rest of the house. Joined with a toilet, family room with my computer, and refrig and freezer close by. A window I can look out of to see if the "Feds" are coming (gun safe near by). It also has outdoor access for a quick escape when I hear momma calling. Who could ask for anything more?!
  18. I don't know, I surely love my Hegner. But the Hawk will get a fair shot.
  19. That is a very unique piece. Great work. I bet it receives lots of conversation.
  20. Silly me, I did it. I brought it home. Now, I have to figure it out. Runs very quiet (even quieter than my Hegner). It is very smooth when not cutting wood; I have not cut anything yet. After going through the paperwork, I found the original receipt. 2004, a little older than I would have guessed. I have three clamps, A bunch of blades that are not what I use, a shelf that attaches to the side with blade holders, a mag light, and a deadman foot switch. I don't use those, I prefer on/off switches. There is some glue and paint splatter on the stand I would like to get off, but I'm not sure how. So, I will do some general cleanup and waxing. Then, go about learning how to use it. Compared to my Hegner, it seems a little awkward, but once I figure it all out, I think I will enjoy it. One thing that really surprised me is the size. I thought it would sit lower than my Hegner, and I would have to go back and forth from high stool to lower chair, but the table top is actually about 1" higher than the Hegner table. In fact, I am not sure where I am going to put it. Something is going to have to go!
  21. great job!
  22. They look good. I took the liberty of rotating your cougar. It took me a while to see it as a cougar when I first looked at it. I bent over to pick up something, and then I saw it. That is a great job.
  23. I do have 4 or 5. I do hope to finish them before I can not longer do woodwork. There is always hope.
  24. Donating mine to my kids for the big bonfire they have always said they wanted to have when I go.
  25. I just use a cardboard box.
