  1. AMEN!!
  2. You will just have to buy a Hegner, they have one for it. Does your wives sew?? Or do you sew? Make them. Or... got some old bath towels?? For several years, I have tried to get my sweet wife... the sweat one, not the crankie one to make a cover for my Street Organ. I want it in quilt fashion, and to look like my organ... now, is that too much to ask.... do I have it..... NO! My one of a kind precious organ is covered with old bath towels!!
  3. You are correct, she will love it for a lifetime. Very well done.
  4. Looks like one that is heated by a torch? I have one that is heated that way and it takes some practice to know when it is at the right temp. When I get the right temp, I usually make several brands on some very thin/veneer wood. I then cut them into separate pieces and when needed I can glue them on the back of a piece I have done. Saves some time and it actually looks pretty nice.
  5. Welcome to the village, Jason. Another Washingtonian here. I live in the S.E. part of the state, in the desert. Glad to have you join us. Looks like a nice pattern. I hope to try cutting it some day.
  6. Good to see you posting projects again. Seems like it has been a while. Nice work.
  7. At $130 and, somewhat more, I would give it a go. Rolf hasn't responded, he is busy with a new toy, I think, but I was looking at buying a used G4 for much more than you are looking at and he encouraged me. He said the G4 was one of the better models, that is not a quote but the essences of our discussion. I did not purchase it, I didn't have the extra money and it would be my third saw... so... I offered to trade a rifle for it, the seller was real interested it that deal but I got cold feet. I do regret not getting it. I have never fired the rifle, I would have fired-up the G4.
  8. Very nice pattern and cutting of it. You have pattern talent!!
  9. Those are a treasure. Very nice work.
  10. Very clean cutting and finishing.. Very well done.
  11. Nothing expensive about it, they only want $700+ for a Cherry wooden base to put one of their $4000 clocks on!! I would have never dreamed they would be that expensive.... Very interesting.
  12. I give up. I thought this would be an easy one, but I could not find any other then mechanical which were several hundred dollars ea.!!! I wonder why this is so difficult. I would think in this day of inexpensive battery operated movement, this would be available. There are a lot of Navy guys out there that would love such a thing.. I would like to find a movement reasonably priced to make for my retired Navy son...
  13. Small tables?
  14. Wayne, good eye! I kinda looked for the type file it was and missed it.
  15. Dick, I think you really did a nice job with this. I am glad you used some contrasting wood also. I have been watching these patterns and thinking they might look even better with come contrasting wood involved. I really like the look you came up with.
  16. WOW, Alex! You are really stepping up the game. That is very beautiful!
  17. Beautiful box you made. I love the inlay. When I get back to the scroll saw, I am going to have to try inlay. I can see being able to do the bigger pieces, but the delicate parts like the branch with the stems going to the leaves,,, that looks very difficult.
  18. Hummm. Ralph, wish I could help you. I have a Mac and when printing PDF file it always comes up PDF print dialog box, which has the option you want. I did not do anything to make that happen,,, I'm not smart enough to figure that out. It just happened. Maybe if you go to the Adobe website there might be a Q & A option. I really think it might be a function of Adobe Reader.... but don't know. Maybe just an upgrade or something.
  19. Great job!
  20. Very well done.
  21. Well, I will be darned. I new about rounding the back of bandsaw blades, I have not done it because I seldom us my bandsaw. Do you sand the back of the real small scroll saw blades like #1 and smaller? I'd be afraid I would break them.
  22. That is an awesome picture. Great pattern and cutting. Looks like we have a "lefty" against a "Righty"! I really hope the horse doesn't get shot. In westerns, I always felt worse when a horse got killed than when a person did.....
  23. Another beautiful piece, Dick. They will cherish it.
  24. Welcome to the village. Glad to have you back at the hobby.
  25. Dick, you are better than me a whole lot of scrolling levels. I practice to get good with flat blades because they are the most used tool and I understand why. If a person is good at only one type blade than they are handicapped. They all have their purpose. Person need to work at learning all.
