    Jim you know that clamp on the top should not be tight. Per the manual you should be able to wiggle it a little. Do not put the screw that screws done on the top of it tight. Back if off about 1/4 turn. I broke a lot of blades before I read that in the manual.

    I put them back in the tube with the unused, like you. I know which ones in there have been used because I always grind the top tip of my blades to a point before using them..

    Ha, confession time, of all the years I have been woodworking, I never knew there was such a thing as a variable speed joiner! I thought they all were single speed. No matter, it is the only woodworking tool I fear, had one for a long time and found I only used it maybe once every few years. I worked around using it any way I could. Finally sold it a while back. Maybe my fear stemmed from knowing so little about them that I didn't even know they came in anything but single speed.

    Nice job. I am a John Wayne fan, always told people I didn't think he had to be a great actor, he basically played the same part in every movie, they just put different clothes on him and sometimes not even that. But I love every one of his movies, some I watch many times.

    In a pinch you can print a couple copies of the pattern and cut an paste the correct spelling. I've done that several times. Very nice cuttings, by the way.

    Simple and effective, that is the way to go. I like it. I had a block of wood with a wood handle nailed to it.. ugly, but worked good but I finally ended up with a "Jim Dandy" lift because I kept knocking my block to the floor when it wasn't holding the arm up. Guess I should have tied a rope to it so I could retrieve it with out bending over...

    Simple Ray. Forgot how I did it but I have this "site bookmarked" to when I click on the bookmark on my bookmark tool bar, it brings up all posts that are new or something new has been added to them since I last visited. It does not matter which forum they are in.. Ya, at the top some where it says "Unread Content". I clicked on that and then saved the address to my bookmark tool bar... It does that search every time I click on it. Before I leave each time I click on "mark site read" so even things I am not interested in reading will only appear next time I visit if there is a change to it.

    If the little bit of back and forth is within the expected tolerances, isn't it easier to compensate for the aggressiveness by using less aggressive blades? Like the man said all saw on the market today have back and forth movement, from the most expensive to the cheapest. And it is helpful, without some you would be cutting slower and pushing harder.... that's my take and I am sticking to it!... As Lilly would say.

    I think that price is only for the specific clamps, pre-ordered. I looked at the same site for the clamps for all the other saws listed and they are $90. Not sure why other than a discount for pre-ordering.

    I can see no way you could adapt those clamps to a Hegner. Having and loving my Hegner, I see no reason to want to. If I strip the threads or something on my clamps I just buy a new clamp which is a lot cheaper than the any of the clamps on the saws listed. I have extra and can pre-load blades. And the clamps are steel with a steel screw. Little chance I will strip the threads, which is much easier to do with a steel bolt going into aluminum. I'm happy. May get a set of those clamps for my Seyco though.... someday.

    Okay, she was in the "Hot Deals and Announcement" forum and I thought she would do better in this forum I asked @Travis to move it here. Sorry if I was wrong, but this new lady in not getting a proper not normal welcome from the Village. Help to fix this would be great. I hope she hasn't given up and left.
