  1. I've seen and used a power inverter . Those deep cycle batteries are pretty heavy and care must be used when transporting them .
  2. Seen this before. I would be concerned about blade breakage on the area that was cut with. Depending on the wood and the depth cutting creates heat which also contributes to blade dulling . For the minimum blades cost I wouldn't think is be feasible if that blade broke and caused an issue with the project your working on. JMHO .
  3. Sorry to hear this Ralph. Prayers for a quick and full recovery .
  4. I have been thinking about replacing my HP Inkjet. Tired of paying way to much for ink. Thanks for all the great words about Brother Lasers. May help making and better decision when it comes time to pull the trigger on this purchase.
  5. Not living in California me heart goes out to you that do. They just seem to be over regulated on things from my perspective . Best wishes for the future.
  6. When I maake sleds and other jigs. use 3/4" birch ply. Holds up very well and never moves on me. get all 4 seasons here so I spend a little extra for things I want to be around for a good while.
  7. Rest up and take care. Nothing is worse then a bad back. Congrats on the sales.
  8. I don't sell mine with just a felt backer. I normally mount the felt on a backer board then attach the fret work to it. I frame most of my work and they seem to do well for me. As for pricing things, that has proven to be location dependent as some areas I go in varies in the amount of money available.
  9. Congrats on the new saw. Heard lots of good about them .
  10. Depends on the original designer. I know the patterns I create are copyrighted to me. Can not be shared or distributed in any format. Clearly stated in the agreement.
  11. In general my understanding is the designer holds the copyright to the art work. The purchaser get permission to use it but can not sell re-distribute or share with out written consent of the creator.
  12. Typically I use cedar for outdoor projects. You can also use white oak as well as a few others, I finish mine with Spar Urethane for lasting protection.
  13. I wrap mine with packing tape. And once cut one one side re-wrap it again with packing tape. Seems to work with for me. Speed is pretty critical doing these types of cuts. As well as making sure your blade in 90 decrees to the table
  14. I build my own frames. As for glass, it depends on the project.
  15. I leave mine on and full all the time. Except when I go on vacation. Then I unplug it and everything else not needed in the house. I do drain the condensation from mine at least once a week, rarely get any but you never know. I use mine a couple times a week for maintenance on machines, shooting brads and the like .
  16. Thanks Dave, maybe when I get caught up in the shop I'll try this. I really like my saw and was thinking of building a fence for it.
  17. Glad your on the mend. Just be safe and don't over do it. Maybe a back brace would help while your gaining your strength back ? Saw dust therapy is some of the best therapy ever
  18. Rigid has a great warranty my son had a few of them. One was stolen so I got him a new one. I have a DeWalt 14.4 that is over 15 years old and still going strong. I also bought the Makita 18 volt impact and drill package and love them. Light small and powerful. One thing I will say about Rigid, I have their miter saw, my fence got bent somehow. Life time Warranty and the fence is no longer available. They did say to take it to a repair center and they would work something out but living with out the saw for 4 to 6 weeks is not an option for me. Just a little food for thought.
  19. I have one of the ones JT was talking about. I loved it but it died. I use a Dewalt ROS now but I keep it supported so the weight is in my hand and not on the fret work. There is a lot information available for mop sanders but they have their limits also. Hand sanding on very delicate work is a great way to go. Food for thought.
  20. Sounds like fun. Please keep us posted on the progress. I remember reading or watching some place to bake the clay it should be something like a 1/2" thick to keep the wood from warping .
  21. I may be one of last few holding out. I think from all I read when mine go I'll order a set and join the club.
  22. Nice patterns, thanks for sharing . Good luck at your show, wishing you all the best .
  23. Beautiful work and display. Thanks for sharing with us.
  24. Hope you did well today.
  25. He offers a few "advanced' patterns and I enjoy them. Put a few on my list of must do. I just need the time to get to them.
