  1. Been married 52 years. I know what you're sayin'.
  2. I was thinking Santa Barbara. That's sorta mid way ain't it?
  3. I got spanked for it so I have tried to refrain.
  4. Maybe we can find a mid point.
  5. Thanks, I feel that this is my second family. I know I go off on politics at times but I'm passionate about what is happening to our country and Les was in total agreement.
  6. No, just want to have lunch with you. The saw runs fine. Table is rough and didn't get anything with it so I'll have to spend about a C-note for clamps and a wrench and a Quick clamp. It does run fast though.
  7. Paul, if you drive down and buy me lunch, I'll give it you for what I paid.
  8. Paul, I did. But I am in 9 x 13 shop with 3 other saws and a bandsaw and other stuff. I can't keep it.
  9. Kevin, most of the printers will tell you that you are out of or low on toner. Check on youtube for a way to override that. I bought a Brother color all in one a few years back. I'm still running the black cartridge that came with it. When it warned me about the toner, a did a couple of button pushes and reset it. Still going. I bought my printer for $225 dollars and it performs great. No inkjets for me. The only downside is I can't print photos. For that, I go to Costco.
  10. Please do. It might be just what I need.
  11. One of the very few benefits to living among 30 million people.
  12. When I need ideas for making something, I go to youtube. I almost always find what I want or ideas that get me to where I need to go.
  13. Don't feel bad. I have wasted countless hours trying to master Inkscape to no avail. If I could just get a handle on what all the commands do and when/why to use them, it would be fantastic. I wish someone offered a one day class on the basics. I'd pay for it gladly.
  14. It's going up for about $400. More if it was a variable speed. Includes the stand.
  15. Thanks Kevin, I did talk to Wolfgang about it and he said it would not be possible. But, I won't take no for an answer until I have done all the due diligence of talking to folks. He said I'd have to change the motor and add all the electronics. That just doesn't seem right but who am I to argue? I'd rather just toss it out there to see if that is really true. I'm going to clean it up and sell it more than likely. I don't have room for 3 saws much less 4. But, it's hard to pass up a deal. I had to drive about 4 hours round trip to get it but at that price, it was still a deal.
  16. I picked up another saw yesterday. It's a Hegner Multimax 18. $40. Funny thing is it's a single speed but late enough in mfgr that it has the front tension release arm. It's been well used but runs smooth. Not sure what speed though. Seems pretty fast. Anybody here know anything about this saw? It has the same switch box like the variable speed saws but with just the on-off switch. It would be nice to make it a variable speed saw. Probably can't but thought I'd ask.
  17. I'll try this on my Hegner as it can run the slowest. I've been too busy to get back to this project. Maybe this weekend.
  18. Thanks Jim. Beautifully said.
  19. J.T., I have missed you and all your sage advice. Please give some tbought to rejoining us here at the Village. Losing Les has been hard on me but if you return it might take away some of the hurt.
  20. Burn up two blades or succeed. One of the two.
  21. That's the first one I made but to me, the kerf needed to be wider.
  22. Brenda, I told them about SSV and that they should tune in and read them all. They will at another time. Thanks.
  23. Thanks Travis. I know this one will gather many posts and replies. Les was one of a kind both here and in his regular life. He and I have shared many late at night stories. I'll miss him tremendously.
  24. I messaged his daughter to tell her and all of Les's family how sad we all are and to let them know how he effected each of our lives. And that he was loved by many here at The Village. She is very greatful and says thanks very much.
  25. I have to agree. I finally gave in and got vaxxed. Now, with it hitting this close to home I'm glad I did.
