  1. To respond to all your comments, it was just something that I ran across and thought I'd pass it along. I doubt that I would ever add it to my saws either. Sorry if it was out of line.
  2. Well, what I meant was the part about the clock insert. That does add something to the story. I agree with you about a larger box but somebody in the shipping department didn't want to take the time to check with you. As for the folding of the patterns, I told them that many other sellers use mailing tubes with no problem. Anyway, what it comes down to is that Cherry Tree has more business than they can handle and don't really care if they piss off a few folks in the process of doing business. To me, all businesses should have a live person that you can call or that can call you if there is ANY question as to an order. It would have been a simple thing to contact you and ask how you'd prefer it to be handled/packages/shipped. For me, I won't be doing business with them in the future.
  3. I'm not sure how often I might use this but I can see where it might be neat to have. It would take a bit of adaptation to mount to any of my saws but it could be done. https://www.instructables.com/Scroll-Saw-Parallel-Fence/
  4. I too received a reply from Cherry Tree. It appears you didn't give us the complete story of your order. Anyway, here is what they sent me. Cherry Tree Toys Service Dept <[email protected]> 7:59 AM (4 hours ago) Reply to me Good morning Ray Just wanted to touch base with you on your email to us. We have responded to the complaint. And just so you are aware the plans/ patterns were not stuffed into an envelope they were placed into a small 1st class box. When you choose 1st class shipping choices are limited as to what we can ship in. What he choose to not mention is that he also ordered a clock insert so packaging and shipping changes. We have touched base with Benny. Thank you Tammy
  5. Could this be used with a regular compressor if pressure was dialed down? I don't have a tiny compressor.
  6. And I'll bet your roads are better too.
  7. I've not heard from them either. I guess they don't care.
  8. Still not sure. That's my wife's area of expertise. Maybe if you could shoot a pic with your phone it would be of help. Never mind. I found them online.
  9. Ok, I'm sold. But, what's a "magic sponge"? I guess I will need one of those too.
  10. Kevin I agree with everything you said. BUT, where I live driving anywhere will never be a mini vacation. Driving here is a nightmare anytime of the day or night. I drove to Cherokee the other day. I tried to time it to miss the rush hour times both morning & afternoon. About 35 miles each way. Counting the half hour at the yard it was a 4 hour round trip in very heavy traffic on worn out freeways among drivers from every country on Earth. Not a vacation in any sense of the word.
  11. Thanks. I did find most of them on youtube. Very interesting. Good thing I speak a bit of Spanish.
  12. I know the tension arm can be added but the daughter didn't think he ever changed anything on the saw.
  13. Who have you been cuddling with? Stay safe.
  14. How do you right click on a phone? Please!
  15. I'd like to watch these on the big screen. Can you post a link to them?
  16. Did they come from the factory in 91 with the tension lever arm? I could not ask the original owner as he has passed. His daughter knows nothing about the saw.
  17. I just found a great deal on a 1991 Multimax 18 with the front tension lever/arm assembly. But, something is weird. It's not a variable speed saw. The switch box has a rocker switch on the right outside of it but no adjustment knob for speed control. Anybody ever seen one like that?
  18. I always just lean mine against whatever happens to be at hand. lol.
  19. I wrote to them and expressed my disappointment in how you have been treated. I hope they take it to heart.
  20. They need to understand how unhappy you are. Maybe if they start hearing from some of us to say that we will not be buying from them because of how you were treated, they might rethink their how they service their customers. I'm going to email them right now.
  21. Those aren't mills. They are stores. Sort of like H/D, Lowes, etc. They buy their wood from suppliers. As a side note to your suggestion, I do have Cherokee Wood Products within an hour's drive of me. And that's at our high traffic situation. I was just out there last week and bout some BB plywood. As usual, I came away with more than I paid for. They always give me a box of two of pieces that they can't sell. This time, I got a box loaded with purple heart. Great folks out there. I strongly recommend any of you folks West of the Mississippi give them a try. They really do try hard to keep the shipping costs down and their prices for scroll saw wood are very good. Talk to Chris. After checking out the link you included for Jones Lumber, I have to apologize. I have never heard of them but after looking up their website, they appear to be a mill in the true sense of the word. I'll have to make a trip over there as they are closer to me than even Cherokee. Thanks and again, my apologies. Another great place is Austin Hardwood center but again, they don't mill onsite. Here is another place near me that I had forgotten all about. They are also great to deal with. The owner has a quasi WWII/Vietnam war museum onsite and loves to show it off. Been there one time. http://www.aitwood.com/default.asp
  22. No mills in my area. All they build here is high density housing. With no parking. It's a sad situation.
  23. It's not your imagination. I also have Ex saws and after installing the Pegas kits, they both ran quieter and smoother.
  24. They will never know how unhappy you are until you tell them. You know the old saying, "a happy customer tells their friends. An unhappy customer tells everybody". Believe me, it's true.
