  1. Kool beans? I thought I was the only person still saying that. Ray
  2. Paul, you do some very nice work. I can only hope to ever get that good. So far, I can't seem to make a sharp turn to save my soul. Ray
  3. I think most everybody is buying them from The Wooden Teddybear. I think you can still buy them from Mike's too. Ray
  4. Geez, I have 3 kids older than you and one who is going to turn 48 this year. You are a young pup. Ray
  5. I guess we need a couple of pics of your layout to envision what your problem is. I take it you are on acreage. Ray
  6. Well, short arms or not, all you have to do is lift with your left. Done. The Jim Dandy will save you time and save using your right are for anything. Ray
  7. Congrats on your accomplishment Uncle Ricky. A job well done. Ray
  8. But Les, isn't it going to become a hassle to keep switching your CPAP hose back and forth. And, the fine dust might clutter up your nose too. Just sayin........ Ray
  9. As long as we are on this subject, there are two different types offered by Klingspor. Can I get some feedback as to which one is the "favored" one? Thanks to all. Ray
  10. I came to the same conclusion. Life is already too short but to waste time making something that can be bought, even though the price gags you, your time is better spent on actually doing something you enjoy. Ray
  11. Jes, I bought one and love it. Home Depot gave me 24 month free financing, same as cash, How could I say no? Two tools in one is always a good thing. Ray
  12. I think John T. is correct. Ray
  13. That tool turntable that you "stole" for $10, there has been one on C/L for the last 3 months and the guy is trying to get $500 for it. You got a great deal. I don't have room for anything like that but it sure would be a great addition to a shop with more space than mine. Ray
  14. Your "shop monitor" has the sweetest face I've seen in a very long time. We all need one like this. Ray
  15. I have a neighbor who is truly short of shop space. He has the Rikon and loves it. I have to help him tune it up the first time but once we did that, it has served him well. Unfortunately, we are going to lose him one of these days in the not too distant future. Old age sucks. Ray
  16. Just a quick note about furnaces. I know most folks already know this but I had to find out on my own so I'm sharing. Every year when it turns cold enough here to warrant using the furnace, I vacuum out all the ducts and clean out the furnace filter before lighting it off. I did all that and then bumped the thermostat up to call up the furnace. It tried to light. It actually did light but with a very weak flame and not hard enough to open the gas valve all the way. Anyway, after watching a couple of youtube videos, I jumped in and took the furnace apart. What I found down deep in the gas valve inside the actual gas jet, a tiny spider had spun it's web and was restricting the flow of gas so the flame was too small to get the valve to open all the way and the flame would go out. So after cleaning out the web, I tried it again and it fired off and stayed lit. I learned something that will save me money in the future. I hope this is news to some who might have to call out the repair guy. Ray
  17. I'm 6' 1" and 225. I hope to be able to sleep on it when I'm in the doghouse. Which is happening more often that I like. Ray
  18. I was looking at your centipede table and I'm wondering what holds the plywood to the stand. Can you explain? I think that might be a welcome addition to my little shop. I work out on our driveway and it's a hassle to set up sawhorses. This looks like a great idea. Ray
  19. I know this may sound silly but have you tried Amazon? They have never let me down no matter what I was looking for. Ray
  20. Count me in for the Jim Dandy. Works great. Ray
  21. I live in an area that has what is called Verizon FIOS. That's fiber optic cable. We are tv junkies and have all 3 tiers of cable channels along with Netflix and Amazon Prime and Hulu. We have what is called a bundle that includes all of the cable channels available, the fastest up and down speed of internet and of course, we have landline phone with free long distance. The whole package runs us $185 a month. We are blessed to live where all that is available. And the weather is great. Everything else sucks though. Way too crowded and the politics are the worst. Oh well........................ Ray
  22. I thought I made a mistake one time but I was wrong! I'm perfect in every way! LOL. Ray
  23. Welcome to the 21st. Century. I'd slit my wrists if I had to go back to DSL. Your life will be much better now. Ray
  24. The winds we are getting right now are coming in from the NW. And very strong. Ray
  25. Brad, I too have a shop with a wood floor that is nothing but plywood on top of some 4 x 4's. Typical mobile home stuff. Anyway, the stand that cam with my saw was a true piece of crap. The saw shook like a dog doing you know what with peach seeds. So, I built this stand. I still had some vibration with it even after going through the saw and tightening it all up and greasing with synthetic grease. Someone on here suggested putting carpet under the feet. I did so and that solved the problem. I can do the nickel trick at most speeds now. I never run mine at full speed. I'm sort of a middle speed guy. My saw sings like a baby. Ray
