    Thanks Iggy, I sort of knew that but couldn't actually bring myself to think that you all are using food coloring dye. Now that you say it comes in larger quantities it does make sense. I just never thought that much about it until it came up here. Do you use it straight out of the bottle or thin it or ???? I guess by mixing it with other colors you can create the color you need? Thanks for your input. I'm really curious. I would have thought that acrylic paints would have been the answer. How about water colors? Ray

    Well, thanks I guess. I wasn't trying to be "funny". Just being honest. I had no idea where one would go to buy food coloring. I've never used it and as far as I can recall, the only "coloring" we have ever done was to Easter eggs and that would have been 40 years ago. Thanks for the info. Ray

    I guess I'm ignorant on the subject but where do you get "food coloring"? I've heard of it for a long time but if I was to go out to buy some, I'd honestly not know where to go. Is it a market item or ??????? Ray

    That's interesting. It has two i.d. labels on it. One says Ohio and the other Burbank, Ca. It appears to be a very old Hawk that might have been repainted. I bought a Hawk 26" in 1985 at a Denver Woodworking show and it was very similar in appearance. It was two speed, belt change. Who knows what this one has been through. I wonder if it's been repainted. Ray

    Another idea is "baggie" clips. We have a bunch of them made of wire that is dipped in rubber. They come in handy for many things. Ray

    Me too Les. I sold tools for almost 40 years and we also owned a Hallmark Store for about 6 years in Colorado Springs. No pension. No retirement. Nothing. I would have had to work til the day I died had we not bought our home in So.Cal. at just the right time and got the opportunity to sell it at just the right time. The 16 years of equity that we had gave us the chance to invest the profits and go RVing for 3 years full time. We came in off the road after my wife had a mild stroke and felt uneasy about being away from familiar surroundings so we came in and bought a mobile home near the beach. Again at just the right point in time. Sure, I'd love a bigger shop but at my age, it would be pointless to buy a bigger home in a place that neither of us is familiar. So, here we sit. Fat and happy. Ray

    Well, short arms or not, all you have to do is lift with your left. Done. The Jim Dandy will save you time and save using your right are for anything. Ray

    I came to the same conclusion. Life is already too short but to waste time making something that can be bought, even though the price gags you, your time is better spent on actually doing something you enjoy. Ray

    Jes, I bought one and love it. Home Depot gave me 24 month free financing, same as cash, How could I say no? Two tools in one is always a good thing. Ray

    That tool turntable that you "stole" for $10, there has been one on C/L for the last 3 months and the guy is trying to get $500 for it. You got a great deal. I don't have room for anything like that but it sure would be a great addition to a shop with more space than mine. Ray
