  1. Well, we are down to one car now so I can move some of my stuff out onto the driveway and have much more space to work in but it is windy have a lot so I have to do most of what I do in the morning. Ray
  2. Sort of like folding/loading parachutes. Ray
  3. You've got waaaay too much space. I envy you. Ray
  4. I just got rid of a ton of old American Rifleman and Gold Prospector magazines at our local library. I took the time to cut off the address label and they were happy to get them. I won't let go of my woodworking mags though. They will go in the ground with me. Ray
  5. Believe me Les, we have had this conversation many times. Now, after 49 years of wedded bliss, we just take turns being right. Or wrong. Whatever. Ray
  6. My Dad taught me to make gaskets using a small ball peen hammer. I would never have thought to use the scroll saw. Very good idea. Much easier and cleaner than the hammer method. Ray
  7. Brad, I built the one that I just posted the plans for. It is very heavy, very solid and I put carpet feet under the 3 legs. No vibration at all. I love it and I'm thinking very much about building the same thing for my Heg. Ray
  8. Les, is this the one you are talking about? If so, I took these plans and reversed them so the single leg is in the front and I can straddle it. Ray kennethstand.pdf
  9. I totally agree with what you say. I have my Dewalt pretty much dust free now by building my dust collection system. But, I also use a 20" box fan to the right side of it with two furnace filters in front of it. It pulls from the right side and the vacuum pulls from the top and bottom. I think I'm capturing about 95-99% of the dust. But, I still wear a dust mask after having a very bad reaction to cutting some very cheap luan plywood. It almost caused me to quit scrolling. Ray
  10. This is excellent. I hope to make something as nice as this for my Heg. Thanks for posting this pic. Ray
  11. Happy birthday. Have a great day.

  15. It makes one wonder if maybe the seller also go ripped off. Bait and switch? Ray
  16. Beautiful stuff Rolf. You are the "Master". Ray
  17. I hope you still have Grandpa's bench. What a treasure to have. Ray
  18. Oh you poor thing. I'm so sorry to hear that. I thought most everybody here was old and retired like me. I turn 75 on Thursday. 3/4 of the way home. Ray And, I'd love a cold beer. Or whatever else is being poured.
  19. This always happens to me. I write something only to find out my question has been answered. Thanks though. By the way, did you see my comment to you earlier today? Ray
  20. Would you be able to use a square on a Kindle Fire or an iPad? I''m curious too. Ray
  21. Any worries about trademarks on the Eagles stuff or are you designing everything yourself? Ray
  22. Have any of you folks ever watched any of the videos made by Matthias Wandel? He makes woodworking equipment out of wood and does very nice work. Along with being an engineering genius. His folks had some cabins on a lake up in Canada that he has inherited and he is fixing them all up to use as guest cabins. He made some unique wooden latches for them. Do a search on youtube for his name and also his website. Very interesting. Here is his website. https://woodgears.ca/ Ray
  23. That's very interesting Kevin. Why do you suppose the stand with the plywood made for vibration? Was the wood too flexible or not heavy enough? My Dewalt saw came on an original tubular steel stand. It was what they made prior to the sheet metal stands that are available now. Anyway, I tried using that stand. I added a plywood top to it but it didn't seem to make any difference. I hated having to stand to use it and my stool isn't comfortable enough to sit on it for long periods. So, I ended up building a very heavy wood stand for it that I can sit at using an old office chair. No more vibration. Ray
  24. Dan, we live close enough to each other that at some point in time, we should get together for coffee and get acquainted. I'd love to see some of your work and basically just get to know you. Ray
  25. John T. did you notice where he is from? Maybe not as easy in England. Ray
