Should you be satisfied with the completed project - absolutely. It isn't a race against anyone. Stop comparing yourself to others, it only causes stress. (been there done that). If you have improved from your first cut to your last cut than that is what is important.
I did these bag tags/key rings for my daughter's synchro team a number of years ago. The sport has now changed it's name. It is now called Artistic Swimming.
Went back to some fretwork. Steve Good pattern. 1/4" bbply. Failed experiment with scrapbook paper for colour. The glue caused it to wrinkle. Finished with one coat of varathane.
Charlie, Doesn't matter if your neighbors don't like it. There are lots of "art" that people put in their yards that I don't understand. One lady, near me, had skulls hanging from her tree. That I really didn't understand.

So, what I actually received was the belt sander part. He didn't order the "extra" which was the flat discs, keyed chuck etc. I have just the motor unit with the belt sanding. I recently purchased this https://www.temu.com/goods.html. It fits in my foredom style rotary tool.
