  1. I have a 4' led shop light overhead for general lighting. I have, but don't use often, a magnifying light. I also have, but don't use often, the same light as @BadBob. I need to get a bigger power bar because I have run out of spaces to plug in the extra lights.
  2. Thanks. It is what I use to display ornaments/birdhouses. It is a Pasta Drying rack. I also made one on a lazy susan thingy so it spins!
  3. No. Just the finish. I am curious now about food colour. Why? What colours?
  4. Here are the finished bird houses. Thanks to @don in brooklin on for the #6 blades. Wood is spruce (?). Finish is Danish oil, Fruit wood colour. Bird is Walnut.
  5. The Santa is a pain to paint! And all the numbers to cut.
  6. I have 4 craft sales coming up. A couple Steve Good patterns. The light houses were from SSWC Magazine. Rescue cat from Scott Seifer. The cat will be donated for the group gift basket. Two of the sales are for cat rescue shelters.
  7. Is that the reason for your avatar?
  8. I know a few people that that would be perfect for!! Nice cutting and fit!
  9. Good luck with the new hobby.
  10. Don, what is your set up under the front of the table?
  11. Thanks for that correction. When I posted, I just went to the magazines article index and saw Janette's name there.
  12. Glad that your saws are accessible again. Thanks for clarifying my earlier replies. I am sure it won't take you very long to get back up to speed. Looking forward to seeing your work again!
  13. Jerry, Just jump in. Find a pattern that speaks to you and run away with it.
  14. A beautiful heirloom piece. A great story about the poem and your island.
  15. Never heard of that. I will have to check it out.
  16. I will have to look into that. I ended up just using a silver paint pen and put the dots on.
  17. Relatively speaking, I am near GF! I think you are the closest scroller to me that I have "met"! I am doing two shows for cat rescues and one for rabbits/small animals this season.
  18. This was from the latest scroll saw magazine.
  19. I usually spend a few hours in the workroom every day.
  20. It actually isn't wood. It is broken bits of larger beads/crystals. I was going for a shiny "glitter" look. I tried spraying shellac on top, but they didn't stick. Then I sprayed my glue on top but it didn't dry clear. It was kinda fuzzy. I may try an idea my neighbour had - spray hairspray!
  21. Got a couple more finished. The mouse is a Janette Square design. Woods used Walnut, Wenge, Aspen and Spanish Cedar. The snowglobe was designed by Lori Jenks. Woods used Maple, Cherry, Poplar, Aspen, Elm. I ended up taking off the "glitter", couldn't get it to stick on. Third photo is the final of the snowglobe. I used a paint pen to put on the silver dots. Both were very quick and easy patterns.
  22. Now onto the post! Good to hear that you came through safely. The turtle is so cute! You did a wonderful job on the painting.
  23. Frank, This was more helpful than any of the YouTube videos I have watched. Thank you. I may resurrect my airbrush. Like Dick, I have one but got very frustrated with using it and it has been packed away for a couple of years.
  24. I have also used the method @don in brooklin on uses. A couple of small clamps and boards. I should add some sandpaper to the boards.
  25. Thank you all for the kind words.
