  1. Boat went in the water on Friday. Any time you want to come north, I would be happy to take you out. No long trips planned yet. Longedt we've done was 5 days. Down to Timber Island on Lake of the Woods.
  2. Thank you. I am really happy with how the finish made things pop. I am really liking just putting 2 - 3 generous coats of shellac on them.
  3. Thank you. I am really enjoying it.
  4. Thank you. As are you!
  5. Thanks. I am really enjoying the intarsia. The rope wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I also was thinking, if it is old rope, it isn't always symmetrical!
  6. I do get to enjoy the real thing. Our 36' Carver boat is going in the water today! Not the best picture.
  7. Got the finish done this morning. Two generous coats of shellac with a thin coat of beeswax/mineral oil over top. Over 120 pieces. Janet Square design. Woods used: Spanish Cedar, Quilted Maple, Poplar, Rainbow Poplar, Cherry, Pine, Aspen, Bamboo, reclaimed Elm, Walnut, Spruce. Mostly cut with MG #5. Some #1 & #3's. You can see the progress pictures in Work in Progress - Next on the Saw.
  8. Well Done Don! Glad the blades are working for you!
  9. Kinda back to an old conversation - it is too bad that Bear woods charges shipping on the prize you won! It would go a long way for customer service. Their shipping costs is one of the reasons I don't generally shop there.
  10. I also buy from Garnet. It has been great service.
  11. never mind - I just read the rest of the comments.
  12. Don't think I wasn't singing it when cutting!!!
  13. You put a confused emoji on my comment!
  14. This will be a birthday gift for my sister. She has a collection of rubber ducks. I thought I would add to it. Woods used: Poplar, Aspen, Tigerwood, Paduk and Walnut. Cut with #5 mg blade. Beeswax butter for the finish.
  15. @OCtoolguyA lady never admits she is wrong!!! Or says a guy is right!!
  16. My mistake. I misremembered the pricing.
  17. Good to see you back. I might just have to grab that pattern. I am intrigued by the the drill you are using. What is that?
  18. Welcome to the village. Just remember - the only "stupid" question is and unasked question. We all started where you are.
  19. That looks like mine. Thanks for the reminder to clean mine. The replacement cost (in dollars) is $90 for 2. I know the replacement cost (for health) is priceless.
  20. Sorry about the eye injury but glad it is healing well.
  21. Synchro is only once a week, in the evening. I don't actually practice at any other time. That said, we did have three weeks off in March. Thanks re; trees. I thought the pattern came from a member here!
