  1. I needed some new outdoor ornaments. Thought I would try Steve Good's pattern, minus the "Merry Christmas". Stack cut two and used a #1 MG blade. Don't remember what the material is called but is is plastic with ridges running in it. Cutting was easy as there is very little resistance to the material. A lot of fuzzies on the back, but not worried about it because they will be outdoors and no one will get close enough to notice. Hubby wants at least two more, preferably 4 more!
  2. Congrats!
  3. The frogs came from this book. https://foxchapelpublishing.com/products/20-minute-scroll-saw-puzzles?_pos=1&_sid=7e48e8308&_ss=r. They may also have been in one of the magazines.
  4. Nice cuts. I agree about the density of the dust.
  5. I haven't watched the whole video but I did notice at around the 7 minute mark the saw seemed to run faster than other times. Not sure if it is just what happens when filming, but how fast do you run the saw at?
  6. I realize that everyone cuts at a different pace. I am just saying that it would take me longer than 20 minutes. I purchased the 20 minute puzzle book, from Fox Publishing. Still haven't cut in 20 minutes!! Maybe 25.
  7. The Recacril I used is essentially the same as Sunbrella but costs less. One of our local boat canvas places now uses it. I figured if it is good enough for them, it is good enough for me!
  8. Great display and congrats on the sales. That sure is a large booth!
  9. 20 minutes - wow! I would place my time at about 40- 60 minutes!
  10. That looks like a Botas pattern. Not sure though. Nice cutting.
  11. @Dave Monk I was thinking about you this morning and wondering how this story ended???
  12. This is how the parents have spelled the name. Grandma approved artwork.
  13. These are special requests for a friend. Fynn is for their first grandson. The parents are avid kayakers, so it is shaped like a kayak with the paddle. The paddle does come out as well. I also paint the backer to match the letters. Especially important when there are two letters the same! Cut from 3/4" plywood, backer is 1/8" plywood. Cut with #5 MG blade. Finish is Walrus Oil. Pig & rooster is a Steve Good pattern. Their other daughter-in-law dabbles in farming. She has raised heritage chickens and recently pigs. We bought 1/2 a pig for our freezer! Cut from 1/4 ply with #3 MG blade. Paint is acrylic craft paint. Finished with Walrus oil.
  14. Nice cutting. I would consider adding a top panel as well. Don't know if that would make it too dark or not. For odd shapes to glue, I will use elastic bands. They make great clamps!
  15. You got the big word spelled right, but something else is wrong. If this is your cutting of the Schwibbogen, great cutting!!
  16. Looks like it will be a great piece. You totally undercharged on the first piece.
  17. I have used Recacril fabric for our boat bimini. It is waterproof.
  18. Lovely!!
  19. Well done. I have cut that but not yet shaped it. Guess I will have to do that. The pattern is available in the summer 2019 issue of Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts. Issue #75.
  20. I had 5 small bird houses - brought home 5 small bird houses.
  21. Oh Melanie, I am glad that he is on the mend!! As soon as I read "trimming branches" I knew it wouldn't be good. Keep well!
  22. Beautiful.
  23. It all looks great. Especially like the nautical one. I haven't seen it before but will go looking for it now. Or, can you provide the link for it. Sometimes it is hard to search what Steve has called some of his patterns.
  24. Both look great. I read the other post first. It would have been interesting to see the fire wood as well to see the changes you made to the pattern.
