  1. Here is how it is set up right now. Refinements to follow. Table at a 38 degree angle right now because I am working on a bowl.
  2. Pembina, ND is the nearest border crossing. Just over an hour there and an hour back!
  3. Well, the first cuts seem to be okay. It definitely does work! Reasonably quiet as well, just had to turn the music up a little louder!! (Yes, I wear hearing protection as well). Modifications will have to be made. The bracket for holding the cyclonic dust separator doesn't work with the DeWalt stand. It is sitting on the floor right now. The vacuum is sitting on the table beside my saw. Will look into getting a fire extinguisher holder for it (hubby's idea). Will also have to modify how the hose is held under the table. Will post pictures tomorrow.
  4. I thought it did, disapointed that it doesn't.
  5. Your Welcome!
  6. At home now! Wind was horrible - big cross wind, blowing snow across the highway. Customs guy assumed I was picking it up for my husband, a little tongue tied when I said no it was for me!! At first glance, it looks great, however I guess I thought there was a hose that also collected dust from the top. The vacuum is very quiet compared to the shop vac. I will in the future try to work on something to muffle it even more. We'll see how it works with my DeWalt. Heading down to get it all set up now!
  7. You could paint the heart only in pink. Nice work.
  8. Off for a quick road trip today to pick up my new dust collection system. After much thought & research and discussion here I have bought the Seyco system, https://www.seyco.com/dv-10a-cyclonic-action-scroll-saw-dust-collector/. Had it shipped to the nearest border town. Heading there after breakfast. Should have time to get it hooked up today as well.!!!
  9. Hubby just pulled out 3 of his guitars. One pick guard was closer to 1/4", one was about 1/8" and on the acoustic it was more a veneer aplique.
  10. I try to follow the line. I find it very challenging to cut "just outside" the line. Perfectionist as well. When I show I piece I also only see the faults even though the family and friends are alway complimentary.
  11. Steve has a ying/yang round box. The lid is what swings open. He calls it yin and yang.
  12. Just take it one cut at a time - sanding helps as does some wood filler if required!! Challenge yourself and you will be surprised!!
  13. I have a Dewalt with the stand. I ise a hydraulic bar chair. I have the foot switch clamped to the middle support on the Dewalt stand.
  14. I haven't painted the woodimals but I did buy a bunch of the Unicorn Spit stains that I am quite liking the way they go on. It is a water based product so it can be thinned and easy to clean up.
  15. I just tried as well, error 404.
  16. It looks great. Amazing how the different backgrounds make it look like a completely different project. I will go against the popular vote, I think I like the bottom one better.
  17. "Does anybody really know"!!! lol
  18. I am planning to do another tree of life - totally stealing your idea of a photo as the background. Great cutting.
  19. Loving the turtle. What type of paint are you using?

  21. I am not sure that I have a photo of one of the first "bigger" projects I did but I made a nativity set for my daughters. It was a Steve Good pattern. I remember having difficulty cutting the straight lines for the manger. Went out to try to find a fence for the saw!!! lol. I also remember trying to figure out how to get the markings on the figures. I now realize that they should have been cut out. I just used a sharpie to colour the lines in. . That was back around 2013. Fast forward - this is my latest project
  22. How quiet is the filter queen? I have been looking to do a dust collection system at the scroll saw but can't stand the noise level of my shop vac. Yes I wear hearing protection all the time already!
  23. My daughter bought me a couple of patterns for Christmas. She had to scale back what she had originally chosen! Here is the finished product of one if the patterns. It was some crappy oak plywood cut wit Pegas mg#3 blades. Took about 6 hours total to cut and glue.
  24. I am already wearing a higher quality dust mask.
