  1. Congrats! An we can say we knew you when lol
  2. Very well done! You design the board?
  3. Thanks I like the dogs.
  4. Good fix. FYI. But that isn’t a tension knob. It is to set the blade for more or less aggressiveness by raising the arm. I have mine set so the arm is parallel to the table.
  5. Do you have the right picture? I don’t see any dogs.
  6. That is two of the finest Jesus patterns an cutting I have seen in a long time!! Hope you will make them available for us. Either way thanks for showing them.
  7. Thanks for the nice comments! When you have a good pattern to go by helps. For you Andy Griffin fans remember the Darlings that showed up on some shows. There truck wasn’t a 1925 but looks close lol
  8. That is a great story! I couldn’t name more than maybe five teachers I had in my 12 years. No kindergarten for me either.
  9. Been wanting to do this project for a couple of years. With the covis stuff I felt now is a good time. It’s a 1925 Model T flat bed. Got the pattern from “Scroller Patterns & Supplies”. The truck is 15” x 7” tall. Used brass nails for the bolts in wheels and side boards. Went to internet and got a picture of the Texaco sign for pump. Made out of black walnut & red oak. Dip in 50/50 mix an let dry. I wanted it to look old so didn’t put any other finish on it. I added the brackets that the side boards go into. Wasn’t in plans but felt they were needed. Used #3 an #5 MG Pegas blades.
  10. Great souvenirs for the beach people!
  11. I do take pride in my work! I took that picture this AM in a hurry because it was going to be picked up soon. I had forgot I had a better picture taken yesterday. Hope it is better
  12. Thanks to Travis for making the pattern for this wall sign. The back story on the walnut is ** About 40 years ago my uncle took down his barn. Best he was told the barn was built around 1860. He was a woodworker an planed down a piece of rough saw board. Story short most of the inside boards was walnut. He sold a lot of them, made a lot of things an gave me a bunch. So I would guess the wood is around 300 years old. The grain is different than most you get now. Back when the barn was built they used what ever was on the farm.
  13. Usually I will cut the board close to the pattern after the pattern is put on. If there is any exposed glue it is dry before I get to start cutting.
  14. To me it is making something for a surprise gift to tell someone thanks!
  15. I also use 3M 77. Sometimes if small project I use blue tape on larger projects clear shelf liner. Either way I spray the tape or shelf liner not the paper pattern. This way you don’t get glue on your fingers. I don’t wait either, spray an place pattern. Ten + years no problem with pattern not sticking.
  16. You aren’t cutting a bite out. Yes you skin it up but that won’t keep it from doing it’s job. As long as the clamps hold the parts together it doesn’t matter if they are perfect.
  17. I know you are in a area with the big money lol. But what do you get for them? Refresh my memory what laser you using?
  18. If the pattern is along the side I just cut between the clamp and the line. Clamp is made of wood so no harm to blade.
  19. For the price of a piece of paper I wouldn’t brother with trying to store a cut pattern. Go to computer print out new one.
  20. Yes you need to make entry hole on both sides. Cut one side (profile) put on clamp to hold pieces in place. I usually use the clamp for the first cut also. Makes it easier for me to hold onto the piece.
  21. Usually they tear when I take off the board an then go into trash can.
  22. I am missing something here why can’t you use a clamp to hold together? Something different about this compound project?
  23. Not on my chess pieces. The 50/50 brought out the color I wanted.
  24. Yes they are different animals for sure. About the only time I will change type of blade in same project is if I need a wider vein. Will cut with straight blade then go to spiral.
