Great job! I like the idea for the stand its on. Makes it a shelf sitter instead of a wall hanger.
  2. Just read the discription on WTB site, say it is to "keeps cutting blades from clogging because of chips and pitch." Dont know if that is a problem or not. Need to look at some used blades under magnification maybe? Now I am curious. Any other thoughts my anyone?
  3. Oak is what I use the most. Walnut and Cherry sometimes. I like Oak ply for the way it finishes more tha Baltic Birch.
  4. I have never used any lubricant. I wonder if it is supposed to help with burning on softer woods like Cherry? Can't see that it would make any difference in blade life or the sharpness of the teeth.
  5. Kevin, I am amazed at the amount of projects and the quality that you produce! Is seems like you are cutting 24/7. Well done, even if it makes me feel lazy by comparison.
  6. Nice cutting! Very well done!
  7. Have one. Where it sometimes.
  8. It is not really a patten, just some simple projects in Inkscape. Played with fonts and basic boxes.
  9. Love the owls. Great job!
  10. 1/4" oak ply over painted 1/4" BB.
  11. Thanks for all your kind comments!
  12. My pastor friend ordered two of the same thing. Shelf sitters that say "Jesus is Lord." One I made with 1/2" oak, with a times new roman font (I think). The other is make from a peice of oak I had that was a full 1" thick - dont remember what font.
  13. My old type 1 is someday going to need repairs, so I have give this some thought. I'm like you and am not a wrench turner. I have a friend that is a mechanic and his wife loves some of the projects I have made. When the time comes, I think we can work out a swap - help with my repairs and take whatever you like from my finshed projects. Just a thought. Jim
  14. That is amazing! Well done!! I can see why your bother loves it!
  15. Well done Marge, very well cut!
  16. Excellent cutting!
  17. Hey Kevin, sorry about your pain. Pain is no fun!! Welcome back to sawdust land. Nice work on the cuttings.
  18. Welcome back to the saw dust world! Well done on the cutting.
  19. VERY NICE! Well done!
  20. A wife can be your best customer - until the house is filled with projects you made. But thats a good thing! Well done.
  21. All that in one day? Thats a weeks worth of work at least for me! Well done and well cut, Jim
  22. Well done!!!
  23. I had cataracts on both eyes fixed about 4 years ago. The procedure was a breeze. The two weeks between the surgeries (they cant do both at the same time) was tough - one eye good one not so much. After that wow! Best thing I ever did (well almost). It is not that bad and you will be happy with the change.
  24. But today is a new day - I can have another one!
  25. I have had this magnifier light (one of those round fluorescent ones) for a couple of years (hey its an age thing with the eyes) and used it for other things until I started scrolling last year. Then I bolted it to my scroll saw bench and all was good. Lately, the patterns were getting harder to see. had to keep moving the light around. I thought the light must be dusty. Checked it nope - it must be my eyes. yesterday I looked again. No dust, just a worn out light bulb. Duh!! Picked up a new one today and wow. Huge difference. And that is my Homer moment for today.
