  1. Sloane's, wooden teddy bear, cherrytree, wildwood design.
  2. Paint on rubber or tar on the in ground part will SLOW rot for some time.
  3. A piece of hardboard that covers the entire table with a hole for the blade. Hold in place with 2 side tape.
  4. Check out rick Hutchinson's site. Scrollsaws. Com under miniature projects. I've seen him cut those no pattern.
  5. Check silhouette sites on the internet there are thousands to print many are in color. Christmas cards, postcards, calendar just a few ideas.
  6. Sadly it's normal, however this is a little more than normal. I sand, remove dust, apply finish allow to cure, apply pattern, cut.
  7. I used 1/16 for book marks bought in hobby lobby or Michaels
  8. I often see or am asked for a pattern/project and have to find it in an old copy.
  9. Blade should not move sideways more than 1/8 th inch. I set mine for about 1/16 th inch. I like very tight blades
  10. You can cut to the point , back up turn the blade in the waste area , back into the point then continue cutting the line instead of making an on-the-spot turn. Just another way to do it. Practice on scrap using the different methods until you find the one that works best for you. You will gain skill with every attempt if you take your time and think about what your doing.
  11. The set screw on one side may be out of place.
  12. The pegas band saw is not for resaw. It uses blades the same size as a scrollsaw blade. Resaw calls for a much larger blade.
  13. Most if not all the blades sold at hardware or big box stores are not worth the price. Olson, niqia (flying dutchman), Gorbet (pegas) are all good blades. There are others but those are the most common.
  14. I use both flat and spirals. Both have applications that make certain projects easier/better looking imo. Having the different styles avail. is like having Standard and automatic transmissions avail. being able to drive either makes life easier if I have to drive my neighbors truck I can use the automatic otherwise I just use my standard. (he can't drive a stick stalls and grinds every gear) Just my opinion.
  15. Wilson 42 why would he cut the character out of the board? Removing the nails sure but cutting out the knots and nail holes.
  16. I recommend a plunge router attachment as it allows access to the center of larger projects. Price is similar
  17. To answer your question. Yes that is 10 dollars a board foot. It costs for every cut they make. Start with a 5x5 panel make the cuts to get it down to 1x1 16 cuts required. Note 5 of the pieces will be shorter than 12x12" due to kerf.
  18. Really like that. You did a great job. Where did you get the pattern?
  19. I had 2 trash cans of "firewood" dumped together and lit. It smoked as there was tape and glue on most. I live in city now. I grew up in a Very Rural area where fires were normal. Don't have a fire that big or that smokey again.
  20. Had a visit from the fire department for burning my designer firewood one evening. No ticket but a few comments about how well it was decorated. Ended with a don't do that again.
  21. Nice use of used CPAP hose. I'll have to examine that approach
  22. wildwood designs / cherry tree has one I believe and Pedro on finescrollsaw.com has one.
  23. Acetone dissolves MOST of those glues. Hopefully you heal very quickly.
  24. The ONLY one that I know about is the one you are talking about. With the downsizing of S.A.W. and the reduction of people who are willing to take on one of these we are down to 1. I have never been to this one but was to the ones they had in Plattsville Wi. and they were fun, interesting and educational ( classes). The Woodworking shows come to KC every year but I have had to work or been sick for the last 6 years and have not made any yet. I live in Wichita. Fredfret
