  1. Hi all. Finished cutting the quotes today. The text is cut with a No4 spiral and is a bit rough. I like to call it a Rustic look. 😋😀ðŸ‘

Thank you all for the comments. ðŸ‘👠Did one of the larger patterns today. Getting all my ducks in a row. 😊😋 I do like the reflection.
  3. Thank you Terry. "C" is for Carla. The pattern comes with a full alphabet.

Thanks Gordie for that info. Didn't know that cutting counterclockwise would make a difference. You learn something new every day. 👌. Still not sure why I don't see any sign of pilot holes.

Hi Gordie. Did you cut the letters out and then paint them before replacing. ? I ask as I can't see any signs of pilot holes. Brilliant work. ðŸ‘
  9. Fantastic patterns and cutting.
  10. The wife needed a small box for paper clips and bits so that gave me an excuse to make this. 😀😊 Pattern by Shiela Landry. I did cut a couple of plastic layers but the wife preferred all wood. I did keep the backing for the lid in opaque plastic. Very enjoyable piece to make, I particularly like cutting the Celtic knot pattern. This was with the plastic rings. But the Mrs didn't like it. 😋 Without the plastic rings.

    Duck.

Hi all. After being away from the scroll saw for a couple of weeks I just had to spend another day in the shed. 😆😀 This is a pattern from Shiela Landry. You get two large and two small. This is one of the small ones. Very enjoyable pattern to cut. I've stuck it to the backing with some double sided foam tape, this gives about a 1.5mm or 1/16 inch gap which gives it a bit of depth.
  12. Thank you all for the kind comments. 👠@kepy. Thanks for the info on Arpop.
  13. Hi Bob. That is so kind of you mate. 👠One of these days I might try one of the very intricate scroll patterns, but for now I am absolutely hooked on the easier ones. 😀 All the best Paul
  14. Very very nice. ðŸ‘
  15. Great cutting. Really like the Celtic cross and dragons.
  16. 😀Lookout it is. 👠Just in case anyone is interested. The post is a bit of Yew. I was given a branch a couple of feet long and that post was just a bit of practising on the lathe. I must say that Yew is a delight to turn. I had a go at turning a pen today.
  17. Cheers allðŸ‘😄
  18. That's great. 😎
  19. He's not got a name yet but seems to of settled in. 😆😋 Pattern from Steve good.
  20. Hi All @ SSV. This is a free pattern from Arkop. Not sure if that is a name of a site or a person. I really enjoyed cutting this. The outside cut seemed to take me forever. It was very deceiving. Tilted the bed of the saw to 15 degree to give a slight angle on the backing edge. Used No 2 reverse tooth on the Eagle and a No 7 reverse tooth on backing. Regards Paul
  21. Hi Marg. Beautiful work. 👠What style of blade did you use on this project.?
  22. Hi Kevin. Some crisp looking work there.ðŸ‘
  23. Fantastic work.
  24. A beautiful piece of work. I like that method you mentioned of cutting with a flat and then to follow with a spiral. Regards Paul
  25. Hi All. Quick update on the Churchill project. So I picked three quotes and asked our good friend Bobscroll to do the text for me. I had all intentions of finishing it today but I was surprised how long it took just to do one of the short quotes😳 So this is going to be finished the next time I get to spend all day in the shed. 😀 I started to use a No2 reverse tooth but it was not working out on the turns the lettering was just a bit too small. I should of resized it a little bigger but I liked it as it was. So next I tried a No 2 spiral, but I just could not get the tension right. As I was tightening just a little the blade snapped and this happened three times on the trot. 😠So I then went to the No 4 spiral and although it is a little bit wide for these letters it was all I had. It's not the crispest example of text but in a way I actually like the look👠The letter E gets a little fragile so on the reverse side I added a little bit of super glue to toughen it up a little.
