  1. I think that is beautiful full stop. (period). The cherry is gorgeous. I like the feathers, but don't think they sit well with the piece, adding a bit of a distraction from your excellent work. Rob
  2. Beautiful walnut. Really makes it stand out. Rob
  3. Perseverance pays off. What a fantastic job. Rob
  4. Awesome job there Dave. Rob
  5. Great job. The gold chain really sets it off too. Rob
  6. I think you should keep making mistakes Dave. Your fixups are great improvements. Rob

    MDF

Hi Edward, I used painted MDF as a backer for this plywood trivet. I glued it with ordinary wood glue and it is still fine some months later. I wouldn't get it wet though. Rob
  8. I have often wondered about cutting laminate flooring. I must try it if I can find any offcuts. Rob
  9. Wow, you are one talented man Brian. Exceptional work as always. Rob

    Tiger

Thanks Marg. It's night time here so this was taken under artificial light hence the photo is not the best. I decided not to apply BLO to this one as I didn't want to darken the oak too much so I just used a couple of coats of Rustoleum semi-gloss clear coat. It is easy to apply and dries quickly. Here is the original unfinished image for comparison. Rob

    Tiger

Tiger cut from three quarter inch reclaimed oak. No finish applied yet. Pattern available here: http://scrollsawer.com/2014/03/28/wildlife-silhouettes-bonus-patterns/
  12. I wouldn't call those uninteresting. Very well done on both. Rob
  13. It looks like that saw has the same clamps I have on my Delta Q3. I love the clamps as they are so easy to use but hate to think what will happen if they break. I found the SS350 manual on line, this section covers how to use the clamps. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/796316/Delta-Ss350.html?page=10#manual Hope that helps, Rob P.S. Pinless blades only.
  14. Wow Dick that is an awesome job. Rob
  15. @Orangeman, you can adjust the space between letters (kerning) in Inkscape. Travis has created many tutorials on Inkscape in the Articles section which you will find useful. Rob
  16. Ok so one hour for Kevin = one day for mortals like me. At last we know the ratio. Rob
  17. Beautiful Dave, just beautiful. Rob
  18. @Dave, The easiest way to answer your question is with a photo. Here is a scrap of Rimu where I have applied Boiled Linseed Oil diluted with turpentine to one half. No other finish has been applied. Rob
  19. Very nice Larry. That will sing once you get a finish on it but it's very impressive even unfinished. Please do post an update after the finish is applied. Rob
  20. Flawless cut Jerry. That looks really great. Rob
  21. Great cutting. How big is it? It's hard to judge from the photo. Rob
  22. Great cutting and the corners are a great touch. They really add an extra sense of the cross to it. Rob
  23. Hoot!
  24. Great job. I'm not sure I have the patience, let alone skill to attempt something like that. Rob
  25. I have just bought a can of that Rustoleum 2X to try. It costs $12.95 here or about $8.75 USD Rob
