That's actually a pretty cool idea, I can see adding some sort of ventilation at the rear, then venting it outside in some way. I'll have to keep an eye out for a tent this summer at yard sales. Thanks for sharing! Chris

Excellent work. I did this pattern about 2 months ago, same problem, getting the color in the right places is time consuming, but well worth the effort. Chris

I may give that a try, thanks! I have a hard time tossing any wood, no matter the size. I had to slip some short scraps in the legs as a couple of pieces were a tad too short. I have scraps stroed all over my shop. When I need one it's like a treasure hunt to find the right one (lol) Chris

I went from a beginner 16" to the Delta P-20, so that was quite a leap forward. I was sure that I wouldn't find anything better which is why I really hesitated to get something new. I really lover the Delta. After much research and getting input from everyone here at SSV I took the plunge and got the King. This thing, for me, is another leap forward in my scrolling ability. I've had it for about 6 months now, took some time to tune it, again the people here on SSV were invaluable to helping me get that done. But I gotta say I really love this saw. If you're thinking about getting one, don't hesitate, go for it! Chris

Actually when I'm in position to cut the pedal is in a very comfortable location, that was one of my main concerns when figuring out the leg design and location. I wanted to make sure they didn't interfere with the pedal or my feet.

They are all glued, no screws or nails. I'm thinking I will want to add some extra support under the table to support the top over time.

As some of you may know I set about building a new bench/stand from my King 16" I got last fall. After much planning and thinking on it I came up with what is in the picture. I wanted something heavy so I could minimize vibration. It made from (8) 2X4's and weights about 40 pounds. Best thing was I had the 2X4's on hand as I had purchased 37 of them prior to covid for a project that never got off ground, they were just hanging out in my garage. The center leg is not so wide as to make me uncomfortable while cutting. It's solid as a rock. No plans really, just started with an idea in my head and ran with it. Chris

Frank; That is really COOL!!! and sucks (lol) cuz now I have another project for my list. In the motorhome my wife like the cube tissues and she's been bugging me to make covers for them. I've been hedging because I couldn't come up with a good idea for the box, now I have one. I love the color idea, thanks for sharing !!! Chris

I haven't been as busy as some of you, but last fall I picked up the King 16" (I'm loving it by the way, I wouldn't have believed it, but it better than my P-20) Then shortly after getting that my wife took over 1/2 my basement shop for dog training. That threw everything into caos. Just when I was getting a small handle on reorganizing my "smaller" shop she informed me that since the warmer weather is I can have the basement back. So it threw everything into caos again. I trying to get a stand built for the King and re-reorganize the shop...again. I have high hope that by June I'll be settled enough to get to some serious scrolling, I really want to put the King through it's paces. I try to check in here a few times a week, and I really need to get better a posting which I plan to. This site has been a real life saver for my as I learned scrolling by the trial and error method for so many years (early 80's and 90's) it was really nice to first get a computer and to finally find this place. My other problem is I'm real good at coming up with projects to cut, real bad at actually starting them mostly because I don't have the time to spend a few hours in the shop. ( as mentioned earlier, it's been in a state of caos for some time and getting to the scroll saw meant at least an hour or moving stuff to get ready to cut. Hopefully that will change in a few weeks) Chris

Just a thought, the wood appears thin, perhaps double the thickness by gluing 2 together cross grain would keep it from splitting? Very nice clean cut for it's size though. Chris

It took a little longer as life kept getting in the way. I went thru the pattern library here on SSV and found a pattern by Janevski. I tried putting a different spin on it. Still learning as far as paint and shaping are concerned, but overall it came out pretty good. Chris
