1. Thanks everyone for the heads up. I really appreciate it. I will continue with my De-Walt 2. Thanks Jim
2. I just found this on a local Craigslist. It looks like a type 1. Is it a good deal or stick with the type 2 that I have? http://cosprings.craigslist.org/tls/5672356337.html Jim
3. I totally hear you. My 788 is sitting right where I put it together and I have no plans of moving it anytime soon. Jim
4. Thanks for all the suggestions. Where the pits are at the race tracks and the campgrounds I stay at it is all gravel. So it is a no go on wheels. Thanks Jim
5. Thanks everyone, does anyone have suggestions on a portable scroll saw? Because I'm not looking forward to moving my DeWalt. Jim
6. Thanks Dan, I am able to make inside cuts. I was thinking of cutting out a couple and make it to where you can put a candle behind it. But I was concerned about how safe it would be with a open flame close to the wood. Thanks Jim
7. Thanks Len, I really like that idea. I hadn't thought about an orange stain. I will keep that in mind and see what others suggest. Thanks again Jim
8. Got to work with the reclaimed pallet wood that I have. Came away with these pumpkins. Not to sure if I want to burn them or just put a clear stain on it to show the beautiful wood grain. Opinions would be greatly appreciated. ">http://http://s20.photobucket.com/user/jimb63/media/Pumpkins_zpsr8febhwi.jpg.html'> Tomorrows project might be witches hats. Thanks for looking. Jim
9. So it looks like I might be arriving a day early for a couple of the races this summer. I won't be able to take photos, so I was thinking about taking the scroll saw with me. Now I will be plugged into electric so that isn't a problem. My question is do I try to man handle the heavy (you know what) DeWalt 788 or do I take the little Harbor Freight that is much easier to move around and then attach it to my mobile work station that I will be taking with me? I would be mainly cutting out Christmas and Halloween decorations and maybe some jigsaw puzzles. No fret work yet for me. I'm hoping someone has done this with going on extended camping trips or something and has some suggestions. Thank you Jim
10. Yep, I have a ton of scrap wood I will be using up this weekend.
11. I finally had a chance to play with the scroll saw and burner tonight. I also realized the beginning of October is quickly approaching. Hope you all like it. ">http://http://s20.photobucket.com/user/jimb63/media/20160630_193254_zpsam7fiwwn.jpg.html'> Jim
12. Done and done. I am feeling warm and fuzzy already. I'm glad I could help. Jim
13. A lot of folks swear by Inkscape also. It is a free software. Jim
14. Thanks everyone, I went around Pueblo collecting about a dozen of them. It's been a pretty good day. Rob, I'm the guy behind the camera. Thanks Jim
15. I finally have some pictures in a newspaper (local) and here is a link to them. Yeah I'm tootin' my own horn a little bit today. http://www.chieftain.com/sports/4647918-120/racing-bike-leveque-motorcycle Thanks for looking Jim
16. I was at Joannes today and was waiting on a sales clerk to answer a question and lo and behold I looked around and saw this thing called a Cricut machine on sale for like $270.00 or something like that. I remembered someone on here had mentioned a Cricut machine. Jim
17. Great cutting Jim. Someday I might try to cut something like that. Jim
18. That turned out nice Dave. Jim
19. Hi Len, it is roughly 5" tall x 5.50" wide. Thanks Jim
20. Thank you Bob. Jim
21. Thanks everyone, for the first time wood burning I'm pretty happy with it even with the wacked out face. Will be getting more tips so hopefully with time I will make the monkeys not so sadistic looking. Thanks Jim
22. Great job, I really like the old Dodges. Jim
23. A co-worker told me his son loves monkeys. So I just had to do a little jigsaw puzzle of one for him. And I added a little dab of wood-burning to it also. Hope you all like it. This is made up of 1/2" Baltic Birch Plywood. Thanks Jim
24. That's what I thought to Len. I am going to stock up through the month of April. That 12x12 might end up being my go to size for my jigsaw puzzles. Jim
25. I was at Woodcraft in Colorado Springs last night and saw they have a sale going on. What caught my eye was a 12"x12" Baltic Birch plywood in 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" for $1.99 each. I picked up two of them. They look very nice. Jim
